Haha, I rewatched DBZ a few years back and loved it, in contrast though I really can't seem to get into Super. It just feels so different. To be fair, it's probably the same and I'm just seeing DBZ through nostalgia goggles 😅
I just finished Somali and the forest spirit and Darwin's game yesterday. I've got a few episodes of ID: Invaded left that I'll probably finish later today. Not sure what I'll go with next. I do have Bofuri on my list but I'm not sure if that's what I'm feeling right now. I guess we will see later.
As for the three I mentioned above. Somali is great but you can probably pass on the other two.

I don't know all that much about In/Spectre but I'll give it a look. I do keep seeing it pop up.
I saw that there were a few OVA's out for Konosuba, Reincarnated as a Slime and the MILF-sekai, though it's actual name escapes me I've got a bit of a backlog of OVA's. For whatever reason I never seem to watch any of them. I think it might be down to their length and how isolated from the main plots they usually are.
As for "If it's for my Daughter", I've already watched that one and thought it was a pretty good watch, though I've heard that some pretty weird shit is meant to happen later on in the series.
I started playing Persona 5 Royal the other day so I imagine my anime consumption is going to drop for a while now.Last edited by Cyanoxide; 30 Mar. 2020 at 08:20pm.

I feel like we haven't gotten a susinct, solid anime in awhile. Everyone is on that shonen "half the episode is suspence, nothing happens, let's have 20 sessons" model rather than "let me tell you a story." Things like "Kids on the Slope" and "Cowboy Bebop" seem so much better to me because they tell me what they have to say and then let me live with it.

Yeah, I get that. I actually started building a web app to help with that. I never finished it because I wanted to redo it in react and never got around to it but it was a community driven episode aggregator that would pull in API data on a show and let people vote on how crucial each episode is to the main plot of a show. I started it ages ago after watching FMA Brotherhood because even though there are 60+ episodes, you could cut out quite a significant chunk of it without it effecting the main story. I called it "Fillerless" 😅

Haha, one day I'll get round to finishing it but I doubt it will be any time soon. My pile of unfinished projects just gets larger and larger. I've even stopped working on my Triple Triad game that I started last month too. I'm a terrible human being haha!
The first half of season 4 is so good. Probably my favourite batch of episodes out of all the seasons so far. I bet it's even better now it can be watched all together rather than in 20 minute installments once a week but unfortunately after the half way point it just grinds to a halt until the final episode. After the final episode I'm pumped for the next season but it's still kind of lame how they handle it.
I'm currently watching Nanbaka. It's not really my sort of thing but my friend has been going on about it for years so I finally caved in and gave it a watch. Despite not really being a fan of this type of anime I will admit that it is currently holding my interest well enough.Last edited by Cyanoxide; 11 Apr. 2020 at 07:08pm.

Nanbaka is also not my thing. Like JoJo or Bobobobobo.
Yeah, seasons ending during the middle of quaruntine is not great. lol. Luckly animation has largely been unaffected since everyone works from home any way.

Yeah I complete agree, not that there's been anything memorable this season. I think I'll see how I feel after I finish season 1 of Nanbaka. If I can't be bothered to watch season 2 I'll probably take a look through some of the older stuff that's kicking about (not super old or anything, just stuff from a few years back) and see what I can sink my teeth into. Or perhaps I'll rewatch something, I know there are a few shows that I've been looking forward to rewatching and I haven't done that in a while.

I just finished up Nanbaka, I decided to watch the second season because I couldn't decide on what else I should watch. I'd say the second season is better than the first but it ends quite abruptly with the main plot unresolved and considering season 2 came out 3 years ago my hopes aren't too high for it to get concluded.
I also finished Infinite Dendrogram yesterday as I realised I hadn't seen the last episode. I think I mentioned it in an earlier post but save yourself the time and skip this one. It's just a super generic Isekai.
I'm going to start In/Spectre next now that the season is finished and there are also a few new shows on my radar too. I'm quite intrigued by Tower of God for example.Last edited by Cyanoxide; 27 Apr. 2020 at 08:45am.

I'm not sure how I feel about In/Spectre. It's definitely not the same but it kind of reminds me a bit of Mushi-shi. I will keep watching to see how it goes but it's not what I was expecting.

I've heard good things about that one. I'm not sure what I plan to watch next as I haven't given it too much thought but I finished In/Spectre last night so I'll likely be on the hunt again pretty soon. I'm still not sure how I feel about In/Spectre though. I liked the characters and the premise but I didn't find myself very motivated to continue watching. Especially the last couple of episodes. They felt pretty drawn out.

That's quite interesting. I'm going to wait for it to end before I give it a watch but it's the only thing this season that has caught my attention. I ended up watching the new(ish) Violet Evergarden movie last night and it was a good watch. Made me kind of want to rewatch the season but I'm probably just going to get through my ova backlog until I find a new series.

So I finally watched Weathering with you and it was just as enjoyable as I was expecting. Not as good as Your name but a good watch all the same and the artwork was also superb throughout. One thing I noticed that seemed sort of weird though is that it features real brands like for example there's a scene inside a mcdonalds. I guess the budget was high enough that they could afford to licence the real brand but I'm just so used to seeing knock off versions in anime.
I'm now watching Beastars which I had my doubts about but I decided to give it a watch because it was made by the same people as "Land of the Lustrous" and I've been hearing nothing but good things from people about it. It's another one of those shows that I enjoy watching but I am in no great rush to continue, normally I watch an episode every few days or so. It's got a "Wolf among us" vibe to it too which is a nice bonus.

i have updates~
weathering with you absolutely made me cry and i would argue it has a better plot and by that logic is better than your name.
yuri time; finished bloom into you, disappointing by ending but also feels.
if i hear beastars one more time i will watch it and give hot takes.https://discord.gg/TvN6xUb ~ chat on discord pls.

I did finish watching Beastars and I did enjoy it, I wouldn't say it's as good as everyone made it out to be but it was still a pretty good watch.
I'm now watching the second season/part of Ascendance of a bookworm. I'm not sure what it is about this show but I find it really enjoyable. On paper it sounds like a really dull show but I don't feel that way about it at all. Plus the work building is really good. And once I'm finished with that I'm probably going to watch make a start on Tower of god.

I skipped Ascendance because it sounds boring but I'll go back and give it a shot based on that glowing review.
Tower of God is good. Not amazing but good. It feels like it falls heavily into the shonen trap of "and now very little happens cause this show has 500 episodes." I would say the pace of the first season isn't bad but there is some feet dragging and that really turns me off. I kind of think it's happening because it was a web toon comic which is weekly comics so they can drag a bit based on that too.

Haha, I wouldn't call it a glowing review but in that case, let me know your thoughts after watching a few episodes. I'm curious to know if others actually find it interesting in the same way I do because even now I can't really put my finger on why I like it. Oh, and be warned that the artwork is pretty lacking compared to some of the more well know shows and there are some pretty unintentionally terrifying facial expressions going on in the opening of the second season because of it 😂

I tried, and failed, to get into Jojo. I may try it again some time in the future though. I watched FMA: Brotherhood before I properly got hooked on anime so I'm looking forward to rewatching it now that I'm more of an anime connoisseur and I'm currently working my way through Tower of God. So far I've been pleasantly surprised, though I haven't watched enough to give a proper verdict yet.
@C0FFINCASE I get what you mean, I don't think I mind long running stuff if I get in on it right at the start like with this but the thought of watching something that already has 100+ episodes is a hard pass for me 😅
