I'm slowly making my way through the original series of Full Metal Alchemist after enjoying Brotherhood. Might take the plunge and get caught up with Dragon Ball Super. Was hoping for an English dub so I stopped watching after 15 or so episodes but it doesn't look like we are getting an English version any time soon and I really want to know whats happening as I keep seeing stuff in my news feed.
I've never really been big on Anime so I'm not really too sure on what's good at the moment but I do have Ghost in the Shell queued up to watch at some point as well.

I rarely watch anime unless I'm suggested one to watch. Recently saw the first season of Hitsugi no Chaika. I didn't know what to expect. I think it was alright.

I've been going back and watching some of the more popular series that I ignored the first time around. OPM, MP100, BNHA, and now I'm watching Blue Exorcist. It's a little boring and pretty generic, but I expected about as much, so at least I can say I'm not disappointed.
I really liked MP100. I'm reading the manga now, too. Mob is really cute... He's a lot different in the manga, it seems. He seems less trusting of Reigen, for one thing. Of course, that could just be a result of translation differences.
It's a nice break from the complicated seinen stuff I usually read/watch. I haven't watched a lot of shounen for a while.

I've gone on a massive binge lately. I started watching Sword Art a few months back and then Blue Exorcist, log horizon, no game no life, overlord and now I'm watching Mirai Nikki which is by far the most fucked up thing I've ever watched.

I've been watching a load of anime the past few days, but what I'd suggest is The King's Avatar.
Others that I watched were mostly mainstream. Konosuba, SAO1&2, Overlord, Mahouka and such.

Overlord is good in my own opinion. I thought it was gonna be bad it first but I got hooked and now I'm eagerly waiting for a season 2. Boku no Hero Academia on the other hand is pretty entertaining but the fact that the main hero still wimps out a lot through the development he goes through. But I guess that's part of the plot. I'd also recommend the Grisaia series, especially the "3rd season(?)" where they actually explore the main character's past.

my hero academia has gotten good lately i got dragged into watching super.
Overlord is amazing as far as the others go i forgot a few but i mostly watch whats on crunchyroll.
That and Ghost Stories is a amazing anime because it's what if you give voice actors a shitty anime and they get bored and high and dub it with a completely new script.

I'm also watching Boku no Hero Academia and Welcome to the Ballroom.
And also the last 4 episodes of Owarimonogatari. Such a satisfying end of the series.

Sidenote: Does anyone know of any good scheduling webapps for anime? I've got one for traditional TV series (sidereel.com) that just lets me know when something you're tracking is available to watch online but nothing for anime.
Ideally something that works for both the dubbed and subbed versions of the show as there are some shows I prefer to watched subbed and some I prefer dubbed.
I'm finding it hard to keep track of them at the moment. I imagine there's something like this out there but I have no idea where to look.

I can now add Steins;Gate and MP100 to my list and I'm now working my way through Erased.
I didn't think I was going to like Steins;Gate after the first few episodes but it really grew on me. So much so that I think It's one of my favourites.
Update: Now finished Erased as well as Akame ga Kill and Kimi no Na wa.Last edited by Cyanoxide; 10 Nov. 2017 at 09:56pm. Reason: Adding Erased

It's been a while since the last update but I've now watched Noragami, Is it wrong to pick up chicks in a dungeon, The devil is a part timer and I'm just finishing up Guilty Crown atm.
I was quite surprised by IIWTPUCIAD, based on the name I assumed the worst but it was actually really good. It's like the first season of Sword Art but with some character development.

Worth it.
Erased was amazing. I watched it as it came out and the wait week to week was brutal.
It's really good. It's literally D&D/JRPG as life and that's an interesting approach to the "stuck in a game" trope. Log Horizon, GATE, Knights & Magic, Konosuba, Re:Zero are all good approaches to this trope.
I've been watching Kino's Beautiful Journey & The Ancient Mangus' Bride which I started watching because of their budgets for animation but have found the stories worthwhile as well. Very aesthetic, I'm kind of amazed they were feature on Crunchyroll.
Eureka Seven is still one of my favorites. I rewatch Cowboy Bebop & FLCL constantly. I keep meaning to rewatch Aldanoah.
News is that we're getting more Yu Yu Hakasho in 2018 so if you haven't seen that you might want to watch it. There are few animes that encapsulate what 80s and 90s anime were better than Yu Yu Hakasho. (Urameshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Woah! Activity on the forum, what is this?!
Yeah my mate told me to watch Erased and it didn't disappoint, I noticed the other day that there's a live action version on netflix for it. The trailer looked really cringey so I'm going to give that a miss but still.
I've put together a little list of fantasy anime that I'm going to try to get through but it's proving to be quite difficult right from the get go. The first one on the list is Chain Chronicle and I'm three episodes in and bored out of my mind. I could give up on that one and try one of the others but that feels like cheating so I must persevere!
I've found that I'm not so much of a fan of the older anime I've heard so many good things about Cowboy Bebob but I'm never motivated enough to watch it. I have watched the first episode or two though.

Old anime is more free to do what it wants so a lot of the great ones rely on more abstract story telling methods. Some world build and make characters while others are character focused and the world is just a backdrop.
Cowboy Bebop is historic for several reasons. The animation quality was very good; it was the first and the definitive westerns in space; the focus on and importance of music; the quality of the score; the character development; the mystery and non-direct story telling; the ending.
Evagelion is historic for being the first of this kind too. These things seem standard for us now, but in reality they broke the mold. Nothing like them existed when they aired.
