So I presented this idea in another thread, but I"ll actually make a thread dedicated to it because I can, and you can't stop me.
Long story short, "It's too bad the people who actually know how to run this country are too busy flipping burgers and driving taxis"
I vote, Hand LG over to our active, trusted public until it gets back on its feet.
They are on here every day, and they know more about what they, as the public, want as opposed to us, the admins and mods, who are hardly ever active anymore.
Throw Gamechief, and Flareboy up there for instance.
Everyone has come up with great ideas as to what they want/need from a once-was heroic board.
What's the worst that will happen? We'll lose users?
I'm Raivu, and I approve this Message.

I vote Flare.
I don't want a position, but I'm willing to help brainstorm if any mods/staff have questions.

I can get a whole lot more active if I can get a sexy position finally on this website.
I've been here forever. <3
EDIT1: and I also have experience in moderating a forum, userbase: 200 active users, 5000 total
EDIT2: I know my mental stability will become an issue but I know how to turn that off.Last edited by Ethan; 17 Dec. 2012 at 09:11pm.

I'm down for helping with Administration, and I think it would be great for the website. I wouldn't even mind if it was GAME or someone instead of me, I just think this website needs some Administration. I have a fair amount of experience, managing a few forums since I was like 9 years old, so I'm an average administrator haha. I wouldn't say I'm great, but I sure as heck can learn and help fix things.

The way I see it, the public knows what the public wants.
If those in charge only make decisions when they're available to, nothing will get done.
Whereas, the public is always there, and always able, and always throwing out ideas and ready to take action.
Ready

Hate to break it to you guys, even though it is a brilliant suggestion, it won't happen. Alex doesn't like having too many admins for an "inactive" forum.

That's like saying we don't like having too many wealthy people for a corrupt system.
So we have to keep everyone else poor, and what we think is okay, is what it is. And things will get done when we feel like getting them done.
I see where Adam's coming from, absolutely.
But honestly, what is there to lose? Members?
This isn't at you, Soul. I love you.
I'm just defending and hoping this word reaches Adam so he can at least think about it.
If you're going to have a system that works for the people, you need to have people that can work for the system.☜(* x *)☞FOOL ON COOL GENERATION

Too many cooks spoil the pot.
That's not to say we couldn't stand for new blood and a dedicated effort to reinvent/revitalize LG. I just don't think you can take 10 random assholes off the internet that hate each other and get any where. Every eight months some random user on LG starts doing stupid shit from drama to spam to "hacking" LG.
I do think that you could give a small group semi-admin powers and let them try to do stuff.
Give them a time frame, set some goals, and see what happens. If things get better let them keep going. If they fuck up or nothing changes, demote them.
Sidenote: I'll be around more now. I graduated last week and the economy suck so, you know. I'll be here to assist however.

So we've reached our verdict and consensus that the success of LG ultimately lies on Artificial's shoulders and conversely this is basically his fault, right?

Yeah i feel ya. I don't have any real desire to be an admin though, specially fo free. ***** gotta be payed.
I just don't see how giving some retard like flare admin powers is going to help anything lol. He'll end up bringing in more retards like him and turn the place into some skiddy hangout.
I think it'll take a lot more than spamming "sign up on lg" everywhere to get some decent users.

Flare's job wouldn't even be to bring in new users. That would be up to a second person or group of persons. Flare's job solely would be forum restructure and spam management, at least per his topic he made.
- 22 Dec. 2012 09:19pm #35
2pac's point was pretty clear. He doesn't see how making Flare in specific an admin would help anything (and frankly neither do I). It's pretty much just a desperation move by LG anyway.
He's not stating being an admin constitutes advertising, he's saying that's all he believes Flare is going to do in his position of admin. Flare restructuring forums isn't exactly the best idea, but if he wants to manage spam/clean things up or something of the like, then a contemporary role as "Janitor" or forum moderator would be best.
All in all, Flare being Admin would simply entail LG clicking the panic button. Not the most prudent idea.

I've read it and fail to see how anything in the thread makes my point void. Like The Unintelligible said, if he wants to clean up a couple of sub forums and do some advertising, great. Give him a damn broom and janitor title then. All i am saying is lg fucked either way.
- 23 Dec. 2012 01:40am #39
>janitor title
Administrator is a required position to do forum restructuring.
When I discussed it with Arti, he mentioned that if that was the circumstance that administrator would be a temporary position just to handle the forum restructuring after which he would just be a moderator.
I don't know how you think forums work, but there is no magic "broom and janitor" button that gives someone an ability to restructure the website.
