Down here, you have to be a bit conservative when you dress, but the nightlife scene has a lot of young women who go around in outfits of that kind, so you can't say much for the conservative part. But, if a buncha prudes decide to come calling, that can be a bit uncomfortable.

Fundamentalist organizations here, especially, try to get people to conform to so-called 'Indian Culture.' It's a free country, you morons. GET OVER IT.

But IMO the way a girl dresses isn't necessarily an index of how they are IRL, but it can come pretty close on most occasions. That, and the fact that the 'if you've got it, flaunt it' principle rules these days, no truer words have ever been spoken.
