So I just e-mailed CNN to complain about their coverage. Told them I won't be watching their station anymore.
Anyone done the same? Or care to? Or even know what the big deal is?

[TW] CNN's coverage of Steubenville

What's going on, so far I haven't heard anything. Of course I'm at work so if its something very recent I have no clue.

Not like today. It's been news for weeks. It's the case where the 16 year old was raped by some football players. CNN has repeatedly covered it with such phrasing as "those poor football players' lives will be ruined by this" and "they will unfortunately have to be registered as sex offenders for the rest of their lives."
Yeah. Boohoo them.
The coverage is fucking despicable, and I don't know how the newsheads making these comments didn't immediately lose their jobs, let alone get to repeat these statements.
Ugh.

I've never really liked CNN at all, this was just the icing on the cake for me to not watch them.
I've emailed them about it, as well.
It's unacceptable for newscasters to be excusing something as heavy as rape because "they're just teens." I honestly don't understand how these newscasters can say such a thing. These teenagers were old enough to know that raping another is wrong, and they're suffering the consequences. There should be no sympathy for them.

The way the entirety of journalism as it stands today handles itself disgust me.
I refuse to watch cable news at all. They either run shit, are absurdly biased, or are just wrong.
The way they have handled this Steubenville thing is just another reason for me to hate the whole system.
It's society's fault too though, we tolerate their garbage and our attitude towards athletes is too similar to Romans and gladiators.
Kobe is a rapist and no one cares. These kids are rapists and no one cares. We're actually more concerned about the rapists than the victims. Its messed up.

I looked into it and I have to say that them codling the football players is beyond screwed up. Do they not realize that girl is going to have major issues and saying that you're sorry for the people who raped her and how it's going to affect their futures? REALLY? Their futures should be behind bars I don't care if you could walk on water much less how well you play football if you decide to sexually assault someone then you deserve no sympathy

I don't watch CNN anyway, there's a bunch of rape related situations that the media doesn't bother to cover, that doesn't recieve the appropriate exposure it should. I think the general consensus of CNN on this issue is fuck 'em.
I don't get tired.
