In this topic I'll share some of the mods I use and try to explain what they are to the best of my ability.
First of All I'd like to introduce you to the "By far" best minecraft mod I have stumbled apon.
This mod is called the Mo' Creature mod.
This mod is great for the fact that it as the title says, adds more Creatures to your environment. This mod enhances game play experiences by not only adding more Friendly mobs to the world, but Evil ones as well.
A small list of added creatures would be:
- Horses (ride able) [8 different breeds]
- Bores
- Birds
- Bunny's
- Foxes
- Bears
- Lions
- Sharks
- Wraith's (normal and Fire Wraiths)
- Ogres (Normal, Cave, and Fire Ogres)
- Werewolves (Can only be killed with a Golden Sword)
And they are even adding more creatures in. With this mod Creepers aren't the thing that ruins your day anymore, however Ogres take over the position of this, because ogres not only are Twice the mob size of you, they destroy any blocks in its way just to ruin your day (so never hide in your base when you know an ogre is around)
I really recommend taking the time and installing this mod just for the fact that it adds a whole new level to game play with just ride-able/breed-able horses alone
The mod is located here: (its compatible with the current up-to-date version of Minecraft)

I realized that you already posted this mod AFTER I made this post... But mine wasn't simply bent on this mod only, I want people to share what they use, and give their opinions on the ones they use ;o
There should be instructions within the page itself for setting it up. There is also a video of somebody explaining it (although he does make it sound fairly confusing) I suggest both reading the instructions and watching the video. Through a combined mixture of the two you should be able to get it workingLast edited by Lostintehdark; 23 Feb. 2011 at 12:25am.

Found another GREAT mod. This one is called the "MineColony"
What the MineColony is, is where you can make Workers trk for you;
- Miners
- LumberJacks
- Farmers
- Delivary men
This Mod is still very mucha Work in Progress, due to the fact that the workers you make can be quite, idiotic at times... however this mod does save you ALOT of time if you are resource hunting. The workers Use tools you insert into their tool boxes, and once their tools break, they just wander back to the box of theirs, and they deposit the minerals they gathered.
Miners gather
- CobbleStone
- Gold Ore
- Iron Ore
- Diamond
Luberjacks Gather
- Wood
Farmers Gather
- Wheat
Delivary Men
- Go and gather all the resources from all of the workers, and deposit into the box in your base
This mod is great because it saves time from having to run up out of your mine to chop down some wood just because you ran out.
The link to the thread on minecraft foums is here:
[MOD][WIP] MineColony v0.41b (FARMER!) OPEN SOURCE! - Minecraft Forums
And th elink to their website is here:
MineColony - colony game simulator for Minecraft
It can be alittle buggy considering its its still very new and a work in progress however its deffinately worth at least a look at howe it works.
