Yeah i dislike awkward silence in particular. I've used that as a reason to force myself to keep to conversation rolling, which actually does wonders for your personality, your socialability, and knowledge of over-all area subjects. The way I see it, the more life experiences or knowledge you acquire, the more relateable any subject you can possibly fathom becomes. Many times conversation can go to things as simple as your own view points on life or global events, which you literally just pull out of your ass after thinking about it for less than a second. Communicating them though also helps you develope in words what your own personality/characteristics are , as well as keeping the ball rolling.
