My grandmother has an arrhythmia and a leaky valve. She's too old to have the surgery to repair either as she likely would not recover. She takes coumadin, which basically alters her blood pressure to help deal with her arrhythmia, granted they also shocked her once to get a near normal heartbeat. I don't know how similar your situation is medically but you could always ask about it as an option.
Bald is better than dead...though your hair may grow back if you ever get to stop taking the medicine.
