Don't buy her a silver ring, silver is junk. It won't last long and after two years the colour will become really ugly, polishing it won't work. Go for gold or white gold.

It's cheap for a reason. But hey, if you don't want the ring to last, go ahead.

Silver actually does last for a decently long time.
It's not going to tarnish ASAP.
I actually suggest getting a stainless steel ring or titanium.

Do any of you guys got nice choices for rings?
- 27 Mar. 2011 06:19pm #9
I'd go with something more sophisticated, like this:
Clean and simple white gold rings with diamonds/diamond cuts(they make it look like it has diamonds on it)
It's a good investment and you could always engrave a date and/or names inside.

So you want to promise to be together....for ever. Last time I checked, isn't that called a wedding ring?

You don't need a ring to get laid... Also if that's how you really think I'd hate to be your girlfriend.
@Stapled: Just get her a stainless steel / sterling silver band with something sweet engraved in it if you really want to get her a ring.

I don't know what you Americans do with your engagement rings, but here in Finland we keep them in our fingers for the rest of our life. If you buy her a cheap ring, she'll notice and she'll carry that cheap ring on her finger thinking what is more important that you couldn't invest in this.

But a promise ring is not an engagement ring, it's a ring that means that eventually he'll ask her to marry him...
- 28 Mar. 2011 02:42pm #24
Nah. Just don't see the reason why anyone would get a damn fake ring. If you're getting engaged, get a damn engagement ring. If you're not, don't get a ring. My girlfriend(ex) wanted a ring... and I'm like... We've been dating for a year, no. I don't know if I want to be with you for the rest of my life. And thus, we weren't, so... the ring would have just lead her on, exactly what Master will do.
Master. How long have you two been dating? A year? You sure you're ready to give her a ring? Because if you give it to her, and you two break up, it'll be a hell of a lot worse on her. Are you sure you're willing to give her that pain? Don't give her a damn ring because she wants it, give it to her because you plan on marrying her.
It's kinda like how people get married after they figure out they're having a kid. Just because the ring is there, doesn't mean you're getting married. Marriage isn't something to just joke around with. You don't give a fucking ring on your one year kid. How old are you again?
@Clover... Dah that's not how I think. Don't you know me well enough to know that I'm not serious about half that shit I post? And no, my girlfriend is very happy to be with me, her best friend is jealous, and everyone around her. Not to brag, but I'm too damn sweet to people. Don't judge me by what I say here. Everyone can say stupid shit if they want to on here, doesn't change who they are. You know this.

If a promise ring isn't an engagement ring then what's the fucking point?

@Boo: Lol don't get your panties in a knot son. I was just messing around. Lol
I agree with a lot you have to say in your post.
@Soph: Lol not really sure. Just like an I love you ring I guess? That's why I was telling stapled to go for some cheap shit.
Lol
All hail kitty pig.

I know people who were given promise rings and then nothing happened... They crash. But hey, who cares, it's Master... He knows everything, right? I know they're going to get married, because every other week he posts saying "I THINK SHE PREGNANT!"
Seriously, how can't you tell if you cum inside of her or whatever... Were you not big enough to tell if you were in her? "Have you started yet?"
Anyways... I wasn't angry, just saying my point, enforcing it, or whatever. I know you don't mean too much harm by it... lol.
Soph, it's the "I THINK WE"RE GONNA LAST" ring. To make people want to get married, fuck their life away, and divorce after having a kid. I see this in Master's future.
- 28 Mar. 2011 06:37pm #29
Master, are you 100% sure your girlfriend is the one you will spend the rest of your life with? Is she 100% sure she will deal with you no matter what until the end? Sometimes I feel like the only one who understands the true purpose of marriage.

Personally I think marriage is a commitment trk shit out with the other person even when things get all crazy and derpy. For the rest of ever and ever and ever.
I've been with my boyfriend 3 years now (that's living together too btw) and I'm still waiting. I think people get married way too fast.
Usually promise rings are for like high school kids that are too young to get married but want to feel like they're taking their relationship to the next level so to speak. Or guys just trying to be romantic.
Idk my boyfriend got me one for our one year anniversary, just a silver band (which I like). I told him it can count as our engagement ring if we ever get married. -shrug-
@Boo: Your post about master mad me lol and become sad at the same time.
All hail kitty pig.
