There is actually a reason he says 57. I can't remember it now, since it was so long ago, but it was made clear around the time it happened. I believe it was that 47 was how many states did something-or-rather that he was discussing, and 50 is how many states there are, but he misspoke, mixed 47 and 50, and said 57. Which is an easily understandable mistake. I even typo'd 50 as 57 when typing this.
I just thought of something else to add onto that. I never even talked about Palin and the stupid shit she said.
