Smoke moderately

Overall, Weed is amazing.
It's not addicting,
but actually your mind can set it to a need.
But as long as you don't smoke every night,
you'll be alright.

You can't eventually. The "Its not addictive" is bull. I watched this guy I was in and band with fall apart faster on weed than the singer on crack.
He was the other guitarist and he was wicked good, way better than I am. He started smoking to relax for tests and gigs. At first he was ok on it but eventually over the course of a year, he couldn't be relaxed unless he was high. An while he thought he sounded awesome when he was high, we had to unplug him the last time to stop him from sucking. After than we kicked him out.
Weed like every other drug F's with your brain chemistry. It might not have the same addictive qualities as hard stuff but because there is a difference between being high and not. An if you find the high pleasure able you seek it out and eventually you will seek out that pleasure at any cost.
Also I can testify that while you don't think you're different high, you are. Its not always glaring but its there.

I'm not against the growing of weed. Its actually a good rotation crop, produces tons of O^2, and makes great cloth.

People react to Weed differently,
therefore that person reacted to the drug and made him think that he NEEDED weed to be high. Most people can handle weed, and it DOES NOT TEAR THEM UP. But i know this guy, and he works at a pizza shop. He smokes every weekend, and when he doesn't smoke weed he is depressed.
He also uses a bong, so there is no way he could get addicted.
The only problem was that he kept smoking, even though his mind couldn't handle it.
And now he is trapped in his apartment.
Thats the thing, if you can't handle it, get out now.
but if you can, you'll be alright.
That goes for me and Obby, probably.

i dont really have an opinion on it but i would never do it myself as i just dont want to risk anything. i dont even know if there is anything to risk though
- 13 Nov. 2009 07:39pm #17
Lol, interesting statement Cony.

I can tell this topic's gonna make me rage.
@idiot who said don't OD,
You can't OD on weed. It's never been done, and it's not physically possible. You would have to smoke something like 4 pounds of weed in one sitting to OD, and you'll pass out long before that happens.
@control how many times you do it a month,
More like how many times you do it in a day. I smoked 5 times a day for a year in high school. I pulled a 4.0 taking advanced placement classes. I'm not sure there is a limit to how many times you do it in a day, at that. I know plenty of people pulling 4.0's in college who still smoke somewhere around a dimebag a day.
@it's addictive,
Depends on your mindset. Five times a day, for an entire year, then I quit cold turkey, and have had no problems, withdrawal, or any such addictive behaviors as a result. There are two ways to smoke weed - for escapism and for meditation. If you use it for escapism (as many idiots do), the problem gets worse, and you can be "addicted." However, there's a huge difference between physical and mental addiction. Physical addiction is when you get the shakes and super pissed off, among other things, when you go without. Mental addiction is when you're depressed for a few days when you go without. Mental addiction is far far far far far less serious that physical addiction, and merely lasts a few days; while some forms of physical addiction (e.g. crack cocaine) will last an entire lifetime. Literally.
Smoking for meditation is perfectly healthy. It actually cured my depression that I was *born* with. Some genetic anxiety/depression disorder that I assume I got from my dad. I know he has anxiety, but I may have gotten the depression from my mom. I was suicidal at the age of 5, but my dad scared me away from that idea. I smoked weed for a year, used it as meditation and not escapism, and I see life from a completely different perspective that wouldn't have been possible prior to weed. I still have my anxiety (albeit lessened), but my depression is gone completely.
So fuck all of you who think weed is bad. :p
- 13 Nov. 2009 08:34pm #19
I don't need weed to get the munchies.
- 14 Nov. 2009 03:09pm #20
LMFAO.
Okay, well when i said OD i meant smoke til' ya drop.
I agree with all of that, that you just said.
- 14 Nov. 2009 04:23pm #21
I don't smoke it myself but I don't think there's anything wrong with it when used moderately.
Also I think it does great for medical uses but people are too stubborn to let people find out what it can really do
- 14 Nov. 2009 08:23pm #22
Thats somewhat true. It could be used to relieve pain in hospitals.
"IM INTERNALLY BLEEDING DOCTOR!"
"Smoke dis' joint dawg. It'll be alll-righttt."

Hm, First Post - And Relavent To My Interests (:
Weed itself isn't addictive, as in - it doesn't contain any compounds that you can become addicted to. Your brain however can choose to make it a dependacy due to the psychological effects it has. Such as Euphoria, which means you feel like shit if you don't have it - much like you would if you went without something you were addicted to.
Your body slowly builds an immunity (not a complete immunity) towards the effects of THC and you're then required to take it in larger amounts, which ofcourse brings physiological problems.
It's still illegal, which means dealing through generally, but not completely, untrustworthy people in dank dark alleys (Or in my case, the scum central of where i live). Which adds danger to the collection process rather than the actual smoking.
There is no evidence to say that weed alone can cause lung cancer, but solidly smoking blunts rips through your throat - and theres always the fact that there is more tar in weed than there is in cigarrettes. A normal spliff will contain both - so inhailing large amounts of tar is always an issue.
I think no one should begin smoking weed having not concidered all of the above, but i can't deny it is quite possibly one of the greatest feelings. I myself go through phases where i smoke it everyday with the occasional skipping of a few, then don't for a month or so.
This allows my body to remove all the remaining THC (give it 6weeks) and then when i begin smoking again it feels as if i've never done it before, and it takes less to get you stoned again (;

my opinion is a simple one. If it being used only for medicinal purposes i can condone the use of cannibus sativa. but for purely recreational purposes, i cannot condone its use.
besides people will smoke weed whether its legal or not anyways. congressional imput and legislation wont change that in any way.Voted Hottest Male Member

Then obviously you weren't addicted.

To extremify with an analogy, slaves deserved to be killed when they attempted to run away because they knew the possibility of that happening when they did it.
Weed being illegal is absurd and a negative influence on the nation as a whole. Just because it doesn't [seemingly] affect you directly doesn't mean it should be ignored.
So given that legislation is having no impact, as you said, the shit should be legal.

I do agree, everyone always makes the assumption that if something is legal people will phase themselves out of doing it, also.
However this is rarely the case in reality, as hardly anyone smokes weed for the pure fact that it's "Sticking it to the man"; this is no longer the 70s.
If you make something illegal, legal overnight then it won't cause people to stop doing it, it would make people think "hmph, legal is safe, safe is good" and get baked (:
This isn't a guarentee, obviously it's just speculation; but i'd see it as everyone who drinks atm - would wind up smoking it at some point, lost of people continue to as the effect of Euphoria is hard to pass up on.
I vote it's legal; but limited.
Even then though, dealers will always be there to bypass the limit.Consequentialism - A Firm Beliver In The End Justifying The Means (:

I'm not saying people would stop doing it. I really don't want them to stop doing it. I want them to not have to go to jail for doing something that isn't harming anyone. If they want to intoxicate their own bodies, that is fine with me. I don't see why I or the government should have the power to say they can't.

So no. i wont drink instead.

Probably
- 18 Nov. 2009 01:31am #38
I have never done weed, but i think it would be alright... I know for a fact that it is a lot healthier than all the other damned drugs and the alcohol... But what do you mean by you opinion on it do you mean like, do i think it should be legalized? Because i persoanlly do think it should be legal. Hell sometimes it is prescribed to you!
I do not think i could handle the munchies... i am already ALWAYS hungry!
- 18 Nov. 2009 01:44am #39
