I think I love you.
Being a web programmer, I would orgasm if I got a job at Google - I especially love their ecofriendly and give-back nature over their ever-sexy products. I can't think of a single downside, except perhaps bloated JavaScripts in their applications, which is understandable.
But, that being the case, I've seen a lot of what it takes to be a programmer at Google, and it's absurdly complicated. They have their own programming languages, and I've always ran solo instead of programming on teams. Team programming results in a lot of complications - the biggest of which being bloated code. But, alas, oh well. The amount of effort it would take to become a good enough programmer for Google is absurd. You would have to know everything ever, and constantly output everything ever. Just not my thing when it comes to programming.
But what I want to do even more than work for Google is being a psychologist (psychiatrist after that), hence my psychology major.
Depends on whether or not you're good at it. I love programming, and I do it as a hobby because I enjoy doing it so much.
lol, that's been taken care of since DOS. Your best bet is trk in database engineering. SQL will most likely be your best bet, or you can get a job with Oracle. Best I can say is databases are a bitch to learn, but useful as Hell.
Video game designing is even harder. IDK about making the graphics aspect, but the programming aspect is the most complicated crap ever. Perhaps you could do database engineering in video gaming - compressing, altering, and optimizing save data or other external files that require changing.Last edited by Torian; 02 Dec. 2009 at 12:30am.

Making my way to the Culinary Institute of America to become a pastry chef/sous chef. Still unsure which one, seeing that If I go towards Sous chef it would cost more, and take longer. Also hoping to open my own restaurant in New Orleans.

I want to maybe be a scientist (like Physics or something) which is probably not likely because most don't make too much money and I like cash . Most likely I will go into real estate law though and own a bunch of real estate. My parents own a bunch of retail shopping centers and stuff and they have been teaching me about that kind of stuff, so I will probably end up doing that. My dad is also a doctor btw and my mom does all the buildings.

Actually sydd, based on the recent goals of google a therapist might be a up-and-coming job for google.
Since they are trying to make a search engine that can predict based on your personal preferences and search history, the methodology of the human mind and practices of routine would be highly valuable skills.

My true career path is;
Business Management
Finance
Web/Software Programming/Design
I am taking a lot of finance classes, I want to rebuild businesses to rely more on a internet based foundation.
I feel that the world is slowly realizing that the internet is the main means of communication and that a business that is ran on the internet has a much larger crowd to appeal to rather than the limited local resources, that is why I feel that these two feilds should correspond together.
I am really interested in starting an online corporation that is like a "Booster" for new companies introducing them to the internet and the internet to them.

Mangaka, illustrator, and animator, so far I have the first two down (but by no means would I consider myself sucessful, in my opinion), but animation is proving to be a bit tricky. Right now I'm attending Tokyo University just in case things don't work out (worse case scenario) and I have something to fall back on, which is why I picked a top university to attend here.

Oh yeah no problem.
And yeah google is great, I have a (Second?) Cousin or something that works for google (Met her once,) she said that they feed the workers, have great benefits, are like a family, do not have massive orgies (unfortunately.)
So yeah that is a great career, Personally I think that the work would seem...boring. I love computers and coding, just the idea of having a set limitation on what I am coding is disgusting to me.

I would like to become a Computer Engineer, and work for some company that which I haven't decided.
If that doesn't work out I would like to be a Highschool Chemistry teacher. (mostly because teaching seems like an easy job, I mean 45-50k a year and you work for like 2/3rd of the year )

Teaching is a hard job.
2/3rd's of the year you work, literally from 4am - 10pm every day including weekends.
And then summer hit's you, no pay, nrk.
It's not an easy job at all, and is actually one of the most time consuming to actually become.
As for Computer Engineering, if you are older than 15 you better start now on learning advanced coding, trigonometry, calculus, electronics, circuitry.
There are load's of required skill's that take a long time to obtain, that is why you see all these older tech support guys, the skills take a long time to gain.

This is true. I've been coding since 7th grade, which is the only reason I've managed to come so far. Shit takes forever, mainly because you it's a step process. Kinda like how you learn basic math, then algebra, then geometry, and so on and so forth. Coding is like that. One language/method, followed by another, followed by another.
HTML -> CSS -> JavaScript -> DOM -> PHP -> MySQL
Each is unique, does unique things, and brings something new to the table. The only way you'll get a job with any of them is if you know MySQL, which is the last step to learn. Assuming you give a year's practice to each step, it'll take 6 years.
Programming is definitely something you need to start early. The earlier the better. I'd say anywhere before high school graduation is a great head start. But it can't be emphasized enough that the earlier the better. Don't wait for a college class to teach you. Learn now, blow through the classes (since you already know the material), taking three at a time and easy-A'ing each of them.

I'm a bit sad to see there aren't any aspiring artists on LG (don't know, just read whatever page it was on, didn't go through the whole thread). Than again, I can't say I blame you; obviously it's a challenge to actually be successful no matter which profession in art you take. I had to go through quite a bit to get to where I am.

I want to be a fashion designer. Start off a small skating clothing line in high school and raise enough funds to make an industry. From there I'll either keep adding on to my business of fashion or get into a new business while having the clothing business and maintain both. I also want to be a public speaker and want to start my own charity.
A little something I also wish to be is an explorer and 'somehow' manage to explore at least 1 sq. mile of the Bermuda Triangle but mainly explore areas of the world that are rarely checked and identified.
