If weed were legal, People wouldn't be spending billions on it a year, Which supplies money for criminals to purchase guns, or people to turn that money into a shitton of money to leave the USA.
In fact, If we had no restrictions against drugs, USA would probably be one of the richest countries on the planet. Due to people coming to our country to purchase un-restricted drugtrade, Which they would deport to other countries, Then return to our country to purchase more drugs.
Hell. If people want it bad enough they will make it, and those who dont want it bad enough are smart enough to see if the drugs would harm them.

The USA does not need to legalize marijuana to succeed, that is just...irrelevant. We would sell it to our own people, and not export it anyway, and then it would just increase cash flow. If people flew over just to get drugs and they were taking it back to a country where it is illegal, we would be making money on illegal drug trade, and is that a political and economic reputation that we want? And if it is legal where these people are taking it back to, why not get it there? Bottom line is, we would lose power ultimately, because a main reason we are so powerful is that a lot of other countries respect our system. Granted, some don't, but a lot do.
Also, adding one product to a legal market as opposed to a "black market" will not affect our economy so much, those people who fly over and take our weed? Do you expect hundreds of millions of them to come and dig us out of our debt? Because I don't think that will happen. We have areas of our economy that bank in a lot more cash than marijuana would, and this one additional product, (I'll admit this product has a head start in popularity, but it won't sell enough to eliminate this. (the national debt clock, you think people flying over to a country that doesn't even have the best climate for growing cannabis to buy it will eliminate all of this debt and make us one of the richest countries?)
I have been spewing all of the political and economic reasons, and you may be thinking, "well gee, what about just for recreation?" and the truth is, national security and safety of the people is a bit more important than national getting stoned of the people. Alcohol does cause accidents, and I'm not saying that its totally cool that alcohol is legal, but marijuana is much more damaging and impairs you more. High driving doesn't result in accidents as often because people don't drive while they are high, because it is a different effect from alcohol. I am not speaking from experience, I have never tried either one nor do I ever want to, but I know for a fact, marijuana does impair you, and very heavily at that, but in a different sense than alcohol, which results in driving being not as common of a tragic ending as alcohol.[/CENTER]

Well speaking from a political standpoint, yes, it and all the other drugs should be legalized so we wouldn't be spending 20 billion dollars a year on drug related shit. Speaking from a pothead standpoint, hell yes.

Yes and no
Fuck I'm an ex-stoner but I quit because I realize I don't need to rely on a little plant to make me happy when I'm in my depressed or sad moments or when life just sucks, I won't lie and say it's bad for you or it will hurt people because it doesn't.. Alchohol is actually worse for you.
The only fact that I never liked about weed being legal is that I believe it makes chicks sluttier for some reason idk why I believe that it's hard to say..
I believe it shouldn't be legalized because of the drug cartels who are gonna be losing power and money and most likely will be starting shit here.
Also because I think we should just stop depending on drugs for income.. We should have a healthy society who doesn't need to depend on drugs.

Actually you know what I started a good talk with my friend today and I say definate no because if we legalize it that obviously affects the drug lords in mexico and they're obviously going to retaliate against this because if the U.S. starts selling drugs all the business the drug lords get will decrease thus provoking a drug war.
