So I was just drinking my coffee and eating my bagel in the local coffee shop, and I saw a band performing on the street for money. I thought "if I was them, I'd probably be thinking right now 'wow, I wish I could just snap my fingers and I'll be as famous as Beck'", then I thought "how could I make this possible?" And I've got an idea...
1. People will come to me with a profession they want to persue. Musician, Magician, Lawyer, Lobsterman, etc.
2. People will pay me (for the sake lets use Musician) $2500 and with that money I will buy them a basic guitar (if they needed it) and a good personal trainer. Now, usually a guitar and trainer would cost a lot more than $2500, but in this economy people are looking to do anything for any kind of money. So good trainers are getting easy to find cheap, and thanks to sites like craigslist, there are a lot of well priced guitars out there.
3. So once I pay for these trainers and a guitar, they've got everything they need to learn. And the best part is, they saved upwards to $500-$1000 that they would have spent anywhere else. So with this, I will get more customers.
The overall outcome?
They are paying $2500
They are making $250,000 with the outcome.
I think everybody deserves a chance, and this is a good easy way to give everybody that chance. It's cheap, it's affordable, it's dependent, and EVERYBODY gets that chance for about $1000 less than you'd usually pay for it. So that's 1000 you save only to make a hell of a lot more than that.
And with all of the money I'm making, the more equipment I can buy, so the more people get helped and the loop continues

Isn't that called Scientology? though usually they just get the money and ditch the people. Look at Tom Cruise, John Travolta, even Beck, they are all long time scientologists, who have been before they were really famous, and at least 2 of the 3 (cruise and travolta, though travolta is more quiet about it) attribute part of their success to Scientology.
not knocking the idea, it would work, but it is already done, its basically an agent of sorts. and youd need to know all the right people to make them famous

is it? To be honest, I really don't know what Scientology is. I just thought it sounded like a good idea for everybody to get what they want. lol

Lol no offense raivu because it is a good idea, how ever it totally sounds like a pyramid scheme. Lol
The whole they tell one person and that brings in two. ect.
It's a nice idea for you though to make some extra cash, haha. C:
If you have enough initiative to actually seek out clients, I'm sure you could do it.
All hail kitty pig.

it is long and complicated. but what you listed seems like what clov3r said, a scheme, or being a talent agent of sorts for people. it could work but you'd need to know the people to sell you stuff and their services cheap. or else you end up paying full price too. which defeats the purpose.

lol I don't know if it's a scheme or not. I never intended it to be. I just figured that by helping these people I will benefit from it too, but I won't be benefiting as much as they are. I'd still be making money though, and that's good. :p Maybe I'll try rewording it..

lol they probably don't have talent, hence why they need the trainer, so they have that opportunity to learn and get involved, and soon enough get discovered.
Look at Seasick Steve. He was a homeless guy who wanted a guitar so his friend found a small warped plank and a broken guitar string, and put 1 + 1 together and now he's famous.

Knowing some famous people probably didn't hurt his chances, i.e. cobain, joplin and mitchell.
your idea could work, but you would need lots reputation to start, and lots of legal coverage in case people did not make their returns, and then want to sue you for false advertisement and such.

No offense but if your only connections are like people on craigs list, your not exactly offering a well researched product, your pretty much just setting people up with people they could have easily found themselves with a simple search, and you are charging quite a bit for it, because 2500 is a arm and a leg for something to have a trainer and a guitar, also, if they are playing on the street, they must already know how to play guitar as well as someone on craigslist who is giving lessons, and also already owns a guitar.
to be honest, if they are on the streets playing, chances are they don't have the 2500 dollars to give to you for 1000 worth of stuff they could easily have gotten.

I was using 2500 as an example, not an actual price.
And not a lot of people can search for the absolute best and cheapest. I'm thinking what I could do is tell them the best price I can possibly find, just in case they have. If they've found a better one then kudos to them. I'll ask for the source, jot it down, and use it with the next people.
Yes people can do it themselves, but that doesn't mean that they do, or are going to. You'll be surprised how many people are capable of doing things, but don't in hopes of someone/something doing the work for them.
I know it's Shitty (no pun intended), but a good example I can think of is the motion-sensor toilet.
We can just push the lever down for half a second, but we've eliminated that half a second and now motion-sensor toilets are selling out the roof. It's a stupid concept, and people can flush for themselves, but that doesn't mean they're obligated to.☜(* x *)☞FOOL ON COOL GENERATION

i thought motion sensor toilets were for hygiene not laziness. isnt it so after you touch you down there you dont rub the germs all over a handle, then someone else touches it and its a cesspool of bacteria. but yes people are in fact lazy

Quite frankly, I think this is stupid :/
People who want to learn the guitar can easily get one from like, Sam's or something for $250 + an amp... then get lessons at basically ANYWHERE for $20 a lesson :/
I know. It's what I did. and then I got bored of guitar after a year of it XD

@takoyaki: Yep, they were also made popular because a lot of flush toilets handles became costly to repair.
Of course it being for people's convince is also involved but it's the same with th automatic anything, it's designed to make out life easier.
In any case I don't think it has so much to do with convince but the fact it can save the company money in the long run.
All hail kitty pig.
