Shift LG away from bots, but still encourage it. Creating bots now is just significantly more difficult due to increased online protection.
Shift towards mods instead for local PC games or games that support mods (GTA, Garrys Mod, Minecraft). Memory injection is always fun.
Focus on newer technology for programming/hacking. Go Pros, Raspberry Pis, Arduino, website development (front and back), linux scripts, rooting smart phones, robotics, etc etc.
Graphics design and video editing once existed here.
LG could still expand on other topics as well such as health and fitness, cooking, online marketing, video blogging, ways to make money online (LEGALLY).
Expand on hobbies. Crafting, Wood/Metal work, Gardening, fishing/hunting, basically any niche you could think of.
Strongly encourage professionalism. This isn't 2005 to 2011 anymore, folks.
And maybe, just maybe. Wipe the forums (After backing-up of course). I know it is probably the least favorite opinion here for countless reasons, but it is littered with --junk--, or have two LGs. Old and New. Old up for memories but couldn't be modified, new for current development.
Revamp LG so its not just a forum anymore. An actual homepage would be nice.
Of course all of this would need legitimate active members, especially people to take control of certain sectors. Doesn't have to be anything like back in the day when we all lived on LG 24/7, but at least 2 to 5 times a week maybe to keep it "fresh" with new content.
With fresh content and a strong user base again, LG could easily sell T-Shirts or whatever for an easy way of fund raising.

The biggest issue would be finding new members. Other than a select few of us on here, the majority of people are former members hoping to reminisce about old times on the forum and I'll admit that I've participated in that after a nine year hiatus. I think before we go making drastic changes to the site we need to increase the pool of members on the current site.
I think the key problem is that we don't have any form of advertising going on behind the scenes to bring in new traffic so the only flow of traffic we get is from people who already know of LG. I think that changing that should be our priority and then once we've got a most consistent base of people we can focus on updating.
And to clarify, for the most part I agree with your suggestions. The site could do with a fresh lick of paint and an updated direction but I think that's not really going to benefit us until we get some more members.
Side note: May have already been thought in the past but are there any advertiser bots we can use? Might be a lazy way to pick up a few people without spending actual money though it would have it's associated downsides too.Last edited by Cyanoxide; 06 Apr. 2017 at 11:59pm.

I mean we need a commodity and a community. We probably have to pick a focus. Things just aren't the same any more and a lot of the community got older has to "life". I'm more interested in the 9-5, than getting a ton of Gaia gold. So the way to draw the older folk's interests in high dollar stuff but that is also generally involving crime which people aren't so keen on.
Tapping a mod community isn't a bad idea though. Making trainers and such isn't a bad idea either. There is a lot of stuff to get into. Several games have thriving and rabid communities around them.

Are there any former members we can contact to see if they'd be interested in revisiting the site? I'm not really in contact with anyone from back then unfortunately. Though I do keep getting suggestions on Instagram asking me if I'd like to follow Shane and Plobby aha
