Minecraft's 2D cousin terraria needs some love too no?
Although not made by the same company, Terraria contains many of the same features as minecraft;
Multiplayer available
Randomly generated worlds
Has day/night cycle
Large cavern systems
Can place and remove blocks
Mining and crafting
Can set your spawn point via a bed
As far as I can tell, many fans of minecraft also play Terraria.

Terraria is on Steam ~ LG steam group?
