It goes from 720p all the way too (1080p, 1440p, 2.7k) 4k resolution. Obviously you get better frames the lower the quality (ex 60 fps on 1080p, 15 fps on 4k). Besides the battery life draining faster, why wouldn't you always shoot in the highest possible quality?

Depending on how long you are filming for, someone might put it in their car for a week and have it set on 720p or even just go for a bike ride with the 4k
