Just wanted to see what you guys think and get some perspective on this topic.
Recently I've come at crossroads between these shows and I was just wondering what LG thought. Family Guy is getting pretty played out and stagnant in my opinion. The plot isn't really progressing, and the brand of comedy is getting repetitive. While American Dad seems like a more reasonably intelligent type of story line and humor with a perpetual fresh feeling to it.
Thoughts?

Like you said, I like American Dad a bit more because it seems more "fresh", but because I'm not an avid watcher of either show, I can still watch a few episodes of Family Guy and like it. In truth, I prefer South Park haha.

South Park is alright, probably better than Family Guy at this point. But Futurama trumps both of them.
I just think American Dad at this point is better than Family Guy. Fam' Guy needs more material in all honesty.

Yeah, you're right haha, I completely forgot about Futurama. That show is great, and no episodes are the same. And the funniest part about Family Guy is the really offensive jokes to me, or when they make fun of real-world actors or actresses, but it gets old after a while, and I have to say - listening to comedy skits on pandora might be funnier.

Family Guy got stagnant after the second or third season. It's been so long since I stopped watching it. I never really liked American Dad, but it is better than modern Family Guy in that it doesn't rehash the same jokes over and over.
In the end, I think one would be better just watching a good show, like King of the Hill or any of the many better options on Netflix.

I'd say the current hierarchy is in general Futurama > American Dad > South Park > Family Guy > The Simpsons
I give Futurama the points for originality. American Dad is just a better version of Family Guy that isn't trying as hard. South Park is pretty good but imo the actual humor has gotten a bit predictable, but that may just be because I've watched so much of all of these shows. The Simpsons simply isn't any more, I hate to say it but I think their time has come to an end.
