[FLP] Cash Shop Cleanup 2012
Enjoy, feel free to comment on if you like it or not, etc. Going to be making some FMPs tomorrow, I haven't made them in a while.
It feels nice to finally be doing something productive again haha.

Not bad. Now you just need to mask it and see if it will actually yield anything.

Thanks, I'm just making them out of boredom, and because all of the other ones are extremely out-of-date. I don't actually use them myself though, so I'll leave the testing their true worth to others haha. I'm doing it with random announcements right now, I can't really come up with any better ideas. I think I might make some new FMPs though, all of my old ones were taken off of the site I had them hosted on.

no no no. C and C++ are pretty distinct languages in this day and age. The only thing C++ has that C really lacks is an OOP implementation (which technically could be implemented in C). I'm 95% sure this friend of yours is clueless. I'm 99.9% sure he's clueless if it's that friend of yours who came to LG.
C is better in my opinion because it's a cleaner language in general and teaches you the fundamentals, and has a simple procedural syntax.
You'd definitely be better off learning C before C++.

Well then I'll try to go find a book on C.
And eh, I know him in real life and right now he's at college, going for Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or someshit. Fuck if I know. He can be really smart about some stuff, but clueless about other things.

Hmm, interesting enough. I figured you were older, as you always bitch us out for being immature and stuff.
I've read computer science books and such, but it doesn't help much as I can't get my hands on any college textbooks or anything. I also can't find any college computer courses near me, and my highschool's only two computer courses are "Web Design" and "Computer Science" (They stretch the name there though. It's barely computer science. They're using JAVA, for pete's sake!)

I know I'm older than you for a fact, but I'm not really old (hint: between 16-19). And lol. It's not all about books, the essential part to being a good programmer is simply writing code. I mean, sure, books can speed up that process a bit. But to be fair it isn't really an imperative factor.
Courses are also available online. You just need to search thoroughly enough. Take the classes your school offers since not every school curriculum offers them. It's more or less opportune and at least a start.
Also, Java is a decent programming language. There's decent job offers out there for it, and it does teach good coding practices and habits.

Oh wow, you really aren't much older then me at all. And oh I see. And for the courses online, they all run such a high price (Around one or two grand) for the ones I want. (C|EH, Security Ninja, etc)
And I know. I took the Web Design class last year. We used Dreamweaver MX I showed the teacher a website I coded in the first two days of class, that used CSS, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, etc, and she just let me go on my laptop and do whatever for the rest of the year. It was annoying trying to browse the web or play games while I hear the rest of the class trying to learn super basic HTML I did have a productive year because of that class though I was Wireshark-ing the school's network and stuff pretty much the whole time I was on my laptop. I even got an XAMPP web host set up on one of the computers there, and was tempted to host a website on the computer. I did for that class time, and it gave people a games website they could play games on. (I had put ~60 flash games on the site) The class was a bore though, so I decided to not take web design 2 because you just learn advanced HTML, CSS, and the very beginning of JavaScript lol.
I'm taking Computer Science 1 right now, and the teacher said I can skip Comp Sci 2 and go right into Comp Sci AP because I was doing so well. I was tempted to ask if I could just do a C++ independent study, but they probably would have just said no haha.
