EDIT:
Screw it. I'll wait till Alex or Thomas make a decision about my RPG and monster training stuff before I start this thing.

As a member who pretty actively lurks LG during the summers mostly, I'd like to say thanks to you Soul for your shot at making LG more active.
However, I have to say that this idea probably won't work as well as you hope, no matter what the prize pool is. While it may temporarily influx new members in, the root of the problem is that this forum has no active interests. We have a small decent community, but most of which doesn't really post except for scarce topics of interest.
And there in lies the problem. The reason why the forum is so quiet is because the only people who psot here are peope who are simply used to posting here due to being attached to community. The main thing this forum lacks is a topic of interest. Even if it's something as stupid as gaia, gaia was a topic of interest and was something that linked a vast majority of the community together. Whether it's cheating or playing legitimately, this forum does not have a specific topic of interest which hooks people into joining initially.
I think offering a prize for someone who can think of a said topic of interest would be a better way to start off the revival of LG than a straight up referral contest where members will join, realize there's nothing to talk about and leave again immediately.

I understand your thought points on that, but that is why if we bring in newer people, the chances of people staying in our current straits is less than favorable, but if we open up our reaches, and start to actually offer things to people, like an RPG for the site, then people that are into it will stay on the site, and drag up activity due to having something to stay on the site for.
Even then, there are things we can do to get activity going again. I remember when the JY was a mindless mess, and people loved it, hundreds of posts a day in the JY and a few dozen in other sections as well.
This is going to be my last attempt to openly try and get people actively trying to keep this site alive. If this falls threw, and no one even tries, then I'm going to have to just resign to accepting the smaller community.Voted Hottest Male Member

That's true. I was just stating, before LG get's another selling point, any people gotten by the referrals might be wasted if there's nothing to keep them here.

I wholeheartedly agree. Although it sounds like it's going to end up like Crunchyland
Crunchyroll - Watch Naruto Shippuden, Bleach, Anime Videos and Episodes Free Online
While i don't think it's doing badly, not sure how well its working out lol

Eh. We need something like that. Which if this goes down the toilet, then I'll figure out a way to quench my thirst.
At least we aren't as bad off as metaplode. XDVoted Hottest Male Member

Well see, there must be a two way thing.
1st, People who bring the new users
2nd, The people who decorate the forum.
I wouldn't mine decorating the forum with more posts and possibly more sections (if admins agree), but it's so ugly to see that the same person posted in all of the section and topics, it's nice to see other users post cause some people read and lurk other people's posts, and that settles them on how they like the forum and who they like most and which section they will be active in, cause when i came into lg, I never even clocked on the junkyard section, sounded so not interesting, but the sections that actually thought you something was like the must see on the forum. So whatcha gotta do i send people to advertise, and people to prepare the forum for a nice welcome to the new users. It's like opening a new attraction park and having most of them shut off or don't work or/and don't have staff to maintain them. Cause all i see are 2 admins and a moderator.
Get me ?
