Because of the money? You'd go see them and you know it. I mean right now Ozzy has outed Zak and while Firewind whats his face is pure shred its not very Ozzy, plus Ozzy did enjoy Black Sabbath and they have all been flip flopping for years but they definitely sat down today and played together, they have been for months now it would seem they are going to reunite. Their biggest fear was if they made something new it might not be where they left off and that would not go over well with the fan base. They are old enough that they are legend at this point.

The one thing I am worried about is if they do come back together, what will they do for their music. They will try to make a comeback correct? well, Times have changed from when that band ruled the world with an iron fist, music itself has changed. What kind of songs would they be making, would they try to evolve into a slightly different genre? I mean you listen to ozzy osbourne's new CD (Well his most recent one) Not everything on it is a golden hit. You can clearly tell that the style has changed immensely. I'll give him credit for the ones that were good, but could it be blamed on the fact that the other band members swayed the decisions of how the songs were supposed to sound?
I'm just hoping they will stick to what they have had, maybe write a few new songs, but nothing that will ruin the name they once had. I would definitely travel just to see them live. No doubt about it. Ozzfest was already one of the things ontop of my list of things I plan on going too. And if this pulls through, It will take the top of the list.

Scream sucked because Zak left and Gus G came in, not because of Ozzy or the evolution of the music. That cd was not as good as it should have been because Ozzy didn't want to sound like Black Label and ditched the classic metal sound he had from something progressive and at this point its not something he should be doing. Aside from that Zak wrote the songs and Gus soloed over them, it was bound to sound shitty. By shitty I mean still pretty damned good, just not the usual awesome. Music is timeless and the classic Sabbath sound doesn't need to be updated and it idiotic to think it does. They could come out sounding like their first two albums and it would be awesome, they could come out sounding like their least two, they could come out sound like when they were with Dio, the could come out like classic solo Ozzy. They don't need to update, metal is still metal. The only evolution is that there are twenty sub-genera. Power metal or speed or black doesn't mean its evolved, its just a different take. The metal Sabbath made and Ozzy made is as cutting edge a ever. They don't know themselves if they'll write more, I hope they do. I don't think they can go wrong. Kiss made a new album and its the best thing they ever made because somewhere over the last 40 years they learned how to actually play and write music. Sabbath knew what they were doing and had 40 years of nothing but getting better on their own. You sit them down in a room together and you get awesome.
Tony Iommi Comments on Today's Posts:
I’m saddened that a Birmingham journalist whom I trusted has chosen this point in time to take a conversation we had back in June and make it sound like we spoke yesterday about a Sabbath reunion.
Thanks to the internet it’s now gone round the world as some sort of “official” statement on my part, absolute nonsense. I hope he’s enjoyed his moment of glory, he won’t have another.
In short they are no more official than they were last week when they jammed, so we still have to wait.
