And it was called MON SEUL.

LOL I was going to guess that. But it was only one guy, I don't remember her shacking up with the other (which was her brother I believe). If the omake chapters for it ever get translated you should read them; it explains the story further when she's a teenager.

Ah, it really isn't a bad manga, a bit controversial though, obviously. I'd recommend it for those who don't get too offended by these types of genre.

Probably, if you really want some more mature manga try out Bokurano, the art is kind of an acquired taste, but the story was great so I didn't mind.

I'm a story guy myself too, but I can't help but compare the art, but that's probably just me. It takes me some time to adjust to an artist's style, but I won't give up on a manga based off the art, Cross Game's art is considered "old fashioned" by many, but its story is really interesting. Ah, that reminds me it begins serialization again this month.
