To make the shoes look used, take the little wrapper thingy out unfold in a little then out it back in, then redo the shoelaces.
and cary both used and new shoes to checkout.

Perhaps you put your shoes in the box, take the new shoes out and put them on, then go up to the checkout line. Then suddenly decide you don't want the 'new shoes' and leave them behind. walk out with new shoes on feet?
