Or does it simply not matter at all? Does Gaia care if you transfer loads of items to another account of your own for what looks like no apparent reason?
Thanks for all replies

Gift anonymously. In bulk succession (many, many times). Or just liquidate them via Marketplace or something.
Trade, afaik, is the least safest way of transferring gold/items.

Sure, yeah.
You can also chain in things like storing the items in storage for a bit to convolute the process a bit further. You know, stuff like that.
Also be sure to use different IPs to access different accounts. VPNs/routers/proxies/etc. Tor is a pretty popular proxy program.

Gaia has recently starting flagging accounts who get massive amounts of gifts (blame me for that one), though I'm not sure how many it takes to trigger it. For huge amounts of items I will actually use trades since it's a lot more suspicious sending hundreds of items through gifting.
Either way, unless you just plain out do something stupid you should be fine. It's all about not drawing attention to yourself.
Gifting a few items is fine, as is a trade. I'll even sometimes to make it seem more legit add in random messages to the gift comment thing.

Yeah. What I'm saying to Tree is to tweak the method(s) he's using in his program or whatever to make for a better, more reliable way to go about transferring processes (with the end result in mind of evading the account flagging/suspicion). Add more options in the program to make it more personalized and effective.
Hey Jeff, can you PM me about these methods of safe item/gold transfer? Thanks.I'm lightning on my feet

I said they flag accounts now for large amounts of gifts because of me doing that.
I don't exactly get your second sentence, because it's not exactly hard to program a bot for that kind of stuff. Obviously I can think of easier ways, but when I used to be transferring hundreds of items out of accounts through gifting/trade obviously I would want it to be botted.
