There's lots of proxies you can use to get around those blocks.
My favorite are the www.camolist.com proxies. They're extremely good, and really fast too.
Otherwise, you can put the installer for the program Hotspot Shield on a USB and install it at school. Running this program will let you get on any unblocked websites without having to go through the slow website. You can use your normal web browser.

And yeah, most every browser has a built in way to connect through a proxy.
