Why does almost everything in the graphics section suck these days?

no offense, this seems sloppily put together, and you don't think i've seen those "old vintage wallpapers" everywhere else on the internet?

also, just because something has a lot of weird effects and you can't tell wtf is going on, it doesn't make it good. About the only thing i like in this picture would be the colors, and even then you didn't use a typical color scheme. I don't think you can be a good designer without knowing the basics of art.
