Like me, Defy, and several others have suggested...
The right side of the homepage, where "Newest Threads" were at, put newest posts there. People will like just looking at the top of the page, where they also see their messages and what not, see the most recent posts on LG.
However, if this cannot be more updated(faster updating) than the Newest Threads, then nevermind. I vote a "Most recent active users" instead in that case.

I prefer recent post because usually you can scroll to the bottom of the page to see online users, I look for recent post/threads on the top or near the top of the page on all forums.
