suicide (serious)

no im not considering it. just wondering opinions about it.

first, what would you consider a reasonable excuse for it?

second, if you believe in religion (heaven or hell) where do you think you would go if you did it? does it depend on the circumstances.

any other thoughts?

as for me, well obviously killing yourself so someone you love can live would b one of the few good reasons to do it. ive found other ways to deal with things like depression that work alot better than ending my life. of course i know for some people depression is a disease and can't be cured.

i know most goody goody christians think suicide = hell end of story. but i don't necessarily believe that. i personally believe if your straight with god and had a good reason you will still go to heaven.

what are your thoughts?

Suicide, whatever the excuse, is not the solution to your problems, real or imagined. If you believe in the theory of karma and reincarnation, all you get out of it is that you wind up in the limbo between life and death, until the time came when you would have actually passed on. But, in the same coin, as you mentioned, suicide to save someone you love, or to protect a worthy cause (not just simple terrorism) is a noble act, because, you gave up your own life to help someone else.

It's a complicated thing, as evinced by the fact that anyone can snap at any given time the way some things are, and book it, just like that, these days anyway.

The logical and rational mind does not consider suicide. When stresses and outside influences are allowed to control you and force you mind into a state of irrationality you consider such things. Its never a real solution and is a selfish choice. You don't really exist by your choice, others made that choice for you and thus you exist for others and do kill yourself is to rob others of you.
I'm conflicted on the fate of someone who commits suicide. Tradition dictates you go to hell, but give what most people are like when they are considering it and commit it, it would seem that a loving God would not cast these poor wounded souls to hell fire to me. I'm sure there are cases where they do go to hell, ie person robs a bank, bank is surrounded, robbers kills all hostages and self, robber goes to hell.

Suicide=/=Sacrifice.
Suicide is idiotic, the only way I could consider it a possibility is if you will be tortured to death otherwise.

well if someone (or multiple someone's) has guns pointed at yours and a loved one's heads, gives you the option of killing yourself so your loved one could live, or both of you could die, and you chose to kill yourself, how is that not sacrifice?

I think a reasonable excuse for Suicide would be Dieing For Someone you love. Personaly i would do it by hanging myself. and i think you would (based according to what i think happen's after death) Be re-born into a animal in which your favorite animal is, Of course i beleive that with all deaths.
