In you entire life, people all have defining moments. It shows who we are as people ourselves. Usually a defining moment comes in a moment when bad shit happens to you, or is about to happen, and your decisions show who you are as a person.
What was your number one defining moment in your life? What made you look back into yourself and realize who you really are?
Mine was obviously boot camp, but im not the one that matters here.
I spent 12 years earning Eagle Scout, and actually worked for it even through there was an easier road and they will give it away in some cases I took the high road worked my ass of and earned it.
Other defining moments:
Not sleeping with female friends when they're drunk.
Not doing my friend's girls when they break down and want to cheat.
Always stepping up to protect/support any one in need.
I suppose you'd also say my dropping everything one a regular basis to run to get friend out of shit.
I turned down sex, with a really hot girl, because I was dating someone else at the time.
I was completely hammered, but still cared about her.
I realized I was faithful, blindfully so, and I'm glad I can trust myself.
thats probably one of the most respectable things i have ever heard. that fact that you had the discipline to keep yourself faithful under those conditions is admirable.
but i mean a little more like, something that shows yourself your entire true character. and who you are, fidelity is a big thing, but i mean total definition.

That basically DOES describe me.
Everything I do, is to try and help out, or to keep a promise.
Mine was in December of 09. I had just transfered schools the previous semester to an online school. That whole year things where heading down hill. I was developing sleep problems, I was not treating the people in my life the best I could, my health was going down hill, I was having some psychological problems (a major fear of death/as well as a major problem with social events) and had not gone to school for over a month. Then I got a letter that the Lexington school district was taking me to court because of how many days I have been missing. That moment is what I would describe as hitting rock bottom. Then starting the next day I was determined to get my life back on track. So I dropped out of the online school and transfered to a public high school. During that time I was able to fix my problem with social interaction as well as my health. I solved my fear of death by taking a week off of school and just thinking about my life, and where I was taking it. In that week I finally came to accept death and become comfortable with who I am (I was also insecure because I am bi). Then I got my own apartment for a few months to help straighten out my sleep disorder. Then finally I started treating people with the respect they deserve and started making A grades in school. The court date still has not been set. I will post an update with what happens with that.
6 years ago, when I was in college, some jerk put together a mob to try and kill me. Nearly succeeded, too. The details aren't something I'm comfortable with sharing in public anymore, so if you want to know, it's by PM only. All I'll say is, I not only survived, I was also able to get all of the prosecuted. The instigator was thrown in jail, and the rest were expelled. Standing up to the college bully is not a healthy proposition in this country. Spoiled rich brat.
How can a school take you to court? Especially an online school.
If I ever went to an online school I'de have the class up on one computer and either be programming/gaming on another. That would have been so bliss.
I believe that the American truancy laws have a clause for students missing too many days of school, making sure that they end up in reform school at the least after appearing in court. Not sure about how it works exactly really, this is from a dim remembrance out of a book on malingering I once read for a college project, so I could be wrong. Atleast this was how they said it would work.

This basically sums it up. Except you get time in the juvenile jail (1-2 years). If you get a really good lawyer you get put in the Will Lou Grey opportunity school.
