So we just had one of the very few Holocaust survivors tell us his whole story, and during the interviews someone asked him "You've gone through a lot. Is there any advice you can tell these people to take with them forever?"
And this crippled little accented old man smiled, closed his eyes and simply said
"Don't hate anybody. No matter what they've done. You can be upset with them, but Don't Hate them."
and I found that to be one of the greatest things I've ever heard that I plan on taking with me for the rest of my life.
Wow, that guy is really lucky, and I completely agree with his saying. Although I've heard it before, hearing it from him must have been more heart wrenching.
I would say I'm going to take that one with me. I can't really think of anything better.
truly inspiring it must have been very great to hear it from his mouth but there is one thing i can conclude " One understands the importance of one things only when he is without it be it anything . Nothing can be called totally useless in life

you should have actually HEARD him say it though.
This little old german man, in his little suit, after telling his whole life story looking over everyone, waving his pointed finger and saying
"dun hate nobodeh"
EXACTLY like that.
Yes were all sure of it.
But my dad did tell me something interesting that I will ponder and carry with me for my life.
"Hitler may have done those awful things but there still is a chance he may be in heaven. For if you accept god's presence then you will be in a true heaven."
see, we ALL "hate" stereotypes. And want a lot of them to just go die.
But so did someone else. The only difference between us and him, is he did something about it.
And look. Holocaust.

Lucky to survive? Or..?
That's really touching.. usually things like that are just empty words, but to hear it from someone who actually feels it is nice.
I would hate Hitler if I was him though. I think you can hate people. But you just don't hate someone because of something they can't help, for example -their race.

I thought he should too, but then it popped into my head that Hitler hated too, and it brought nothing but misery to everyone. So maybe that's why he doesn't Hate him. He doesn't want to be as low as Hitler.

I agree with this. Hating hitler for doing what he did, would only bring him as low. Even if he didn't do anything like Hitler did. It was that hate that lead to it.
The one thing that always stuck with me is what my grandfather said before he died.
"Brandon, i know your only 4, and you may not remember me, but, I love you, and i want you to remember.. When you think its the end. Its just a new beginning."
Then he died, right there infront of my eyes...
And only until last year did i know what he meant.
Its like he knew what was going to happen.
