Yea, I know, it is highly unlikely but due to reports, it does seem that the Earth's axis has shifted . The recent earthquakes and the after shocks were so powerful it caused the earth to shift on its axis.
Yeah we talked about this in school, I was told days are 1.3 seconds shorter or something, crazy because of the shift.
Also take into account that the shift in weather will be more than aparent. The shift is going to be significant, but since it has happened so abruptly, it might take a a while, but it is gonna be outrageous.
@Gina: Not far from it, just think about the fact that storms are going to be much more powerful then they currently are. Hurricanes, blizzards, anything can and will become much more powerful then they are as of right now.

It just goes to show that it has had a major impact. An entire city was raised 6 inches.
An earthquake of this magnitude is going to have drastic effects outside of shortening the day a few seconds.
The world's axis is continually shifting, very slowly. At some point we will no longer be tilted, the rotation also slows which is really causing the shift. On top of that our poles are in the process of flipping. Fun stuff.

If I remember correctly, the poles flip on a fairly regular basis (it does take a long time, though). I think that by the time the Earth's axis has tilted any real amount, humans will have been long gone.
The Earth is continually wobbling on its axis, the tilt change happens as a result of the rotation of the earth slowing, and the poles reverse happens ever few hundred years.
The North Star has been several stars over the existence of man as a result of wobble, the tilt change is not really noticeable to us because we haven't been around long enough, and the poles I believe have shifted once or twice in our existence. One of our most imminent problems is the fact the Earth's magnetic force is decaying. We need the electromagnetic field generated by our metal core to protect the Earth from solar winds and such.

You spin it and it's pretty smooth for a while, but as it slows down the shift changes and it starts tbble. One small wobble turns into a bigger wobble, and the whole thing comes down all at once.
Now, I know the earth isn't going to come down, but as C0FFIN said, the earth is always constantly shifting.
If the earth is spinning slower, is gravity getting heavier? (I'm thinking about a gravitron effect)
