New Version: Nightmare on Elm Street
Probably you guys know about this, but if you don't, it's an old movie, and this is just a new version. I haven't ever seen any of the old ones, but I know the base of the story.

Is this one going to be the exact same story, just renewed and better effects?
Or will it be part of the old series?

Also discuss any feelings you have about the movie and if it will be as good as the older ones

I honestly think it will be just as good :)

I loved the first one, time to see the remake.

Oh, since you've seen the older ones, is it really scary? Or is it kind of, "well it's on old movie, the effects aren't great so it's not that scary"...?

No.. Its good.. Fucking great actually :)

The effects arent the best, but they are still really good... if i were to watch it today i wouldn't get scared, but when i was 9 i did :)

I was born on friday 13'th so i got kinda scared when i was young :P

Its a "I can't come up with any thing original so I'll just remake someone else's movie"
The original was pretty awesome, and I have always hated remakes.

What about the new alice in wonderland? Or some other good remakes which i cant think of any but i know there is some.

Im sure some movies are better off remade.

Yeah, I tend to feel the same way about most thing, except I probably see this since i've never seen the original.

Although I am excited for Alice in Wonderland.

Alice in Wonderland isn't even out yet iirc so no-one knows if it measures up to the original.

I'm also on the "remakes can suck half the time and just cater to the new generation." bandwagon.

THe new Nightmare on Elm Street had better live up to the reputation that RObert Englund had laid down for the Springwood Slasher. A lot of the remakes of movies are done pretty well, Halloween, Friday the 13th,etc. All that has to be done is a good version. It has the ability to be one of the best remakes possible if done right, but there is always room for it to be bastardized. Lets hope for the former, and not the latter.
