can we have a maplestory private server? i mean we were already going to have one and @$^%@$% happened. i know defy and sk8ter (+others) is willing to code it and we do have testers so please consider making an official maplestory private server.

I can host the server if needed. I have cpanel hosting that I'm currently not using so if that's a problem contact me.

I made a hamachi ps for logical gamers, but then LG went down and I deleted all the files :(. I am willing to help if anyone else wants to do one :)

that it was so gay because i had everything planned out, i even did a thread about applying for programming/testing and shit. then BAM lg does down -.-

It would have to be on a dedicated server. I know how private servers get, you open internet explorer and the server lags like a mo.

You'd have to really plan this out.

And ofc we would plan this out, that's how we can get more people :). If it's bad all we will get is bad publicity and we don't want that.

Yeah so we'd need to release a beta for it, only to certain level LG members.
I don't think any admins need to be involved unless they want to, maybe the programming team might like a whack at it.

The only experience i have with Maplestory private servers is (trys to remember) it's either new item design or importing redesigned items, i can't remember but it's something like that.

I coded my own server for a while, so I know a bit. I managed to change exp rate, money rate and item drop. I also made it so that nexon items would drop and changed some quest rewards and offered those GM hats and clothes. But that's about it.
I have also been a GM in about 11 PS that I've played on :)

Iv been a GM in quite a few back when i had my old PC. Now im running this amazing mac but i can't play any download games. haha.

But im getting a new mac for Christmas, might have to play this server if it comes out.

Yes I can take care of a dedicated server, depending on user activity on the server of course and even the domain if needed, but I'd have to see a considerable amount of member activity.

It would be great if you guys could get a dedicated team of coders to actually do this. It would be a great contribution to the site, and help gain popularity.

i dont understand why you think we know nothing about hosting a server. me and defy planned this out very nicely (be nice if i saved those pms from before >.>;;) and TDA and sk8er were both very excited about this. we had about a good amount of programmers and private testers before, if LG didnt go down LogicalMS might be one of the most popular server on the web right now.

I agree, if LG has a PS and it becomes as popular as DestinyMS, then yes, it will both bring money to LG and more users to LG.

Your logic is a little flawed. You guys expect me to just provided 100% money for the dedicated server and then flow the rest of the money to LG only? I would rightfully have to take a percentage just to keep the dedicated server up 100% That's the only draw back if I'm to host, pay for a domain, and run a dedicated server all at once. So you guys need to get an admin in this thread ASAP. So we can get some of our questions answered.

Well all money made from LogicalMS would be used to pay for the bills for keep it running, and the extra would proceed to keep LG running. It should be a 100% non-profit. It's to help the community, without expecting anything in return.

I'm in for it 100% as long as the bills get paid. Could be a really fun experience and bring in members.

Er no. It would go to making it better, and paying programmers.
But the chances of bringing money in from it is 1%.
Now that I seen this again I really want to start it up again.

go pm a admin or something (shane is probably a better idea then alex) and ask to start this as a project on LG. im pretty sure alex and shane both approved this before so it shouldnt be too hard.

Eh I don't really have too much experience with coding or custom design but I have been a beta tester for multiple servers in MS and WoW and I have been a Mod for multiple WoW servers. And how is this server if brought up going to deal with hackers?

LG isn't a small community. And with something like this, the site would explode with new members. Look how fast a shitload of people came back the first 3 days. Lol.

I'd be a tester. I have a lot of free time but I have no experience in coding. xD I can icon and sprite to.

I for one suggest that we do not get involved with Maple Story private servers since they are really cracking down on them and i have seen ALOT of private servers who seemed unstoppable get crushed and sue'd and never hear from them ever again.

The last thing we need right now is more enemies and i for one believe that gaia is enough, the staff themselves dont really seem all that bad ... just a little overwhelmed with the outrageously high amount of jackass users they have.

ether way, stop asking for tester positions here. defy will probably organize a group by himself or host an open application thread. asking here wont help.

For now, we're not going to have any servers. When we finally release our first server, we will begin asking for help/suggestions on new servers.
