Ok, first things first. Alex, we need to know a date for when the "update" is going to happen. A lot of users have simply given up on lg. And 99.99% of suggestion are simply getting ignored. Please provide us with a date, or estimate of when the "update" is coming to give us something to look forward to.
Also, I think we should add a GPT forum. GPT sites are extremely popular and could attract a lot of new users to the site. And then we could move the lockerz forum from the JY to the GPT forum.
Not going to happen, Alex is to bogged down with other things. This huge update from what I see is ready to be released, no clue what he's waiting for.

If Alex can't roll out the updates/fulfill user's suggestions than he needs to give Plobby or Torian an FTP account so they can take charge of user's suggestions.

Thats also not going to happen.
When alex sees its needed for him to make LG a better place, he will... Until then, im not releasing things, or even trying to do a thing about it. I think plobby and torian have already done their part.

Explain to me the relevance of this towards the thread.
Alex has a life so he's dealing with it's problems. Once those problems are taken care of, he'll deal with us basementdwellers. Before we should even think about updating the website, why don't we start getting active members? If we do update, what will it do? It will only benefit the 10 active members we have left here.

That is the part you're overlooking. We can try and get members to come to the site. But if it doesn't have features, and "bling" than nobody will sign up or stay around. It's a sad fact, but true. And I understand that Alex is busy. That is why I am suggesting that he take 5min to set up a FTP account for another Admin so that he won't have trry about it anymore.
Without new features, the harder it will be to get active members. Which is why the features need to be updated asap. If the features are going to take this long to update just bring back lgg something to moviate the users and bring some trading activities.
We got plenty of active members in LG 1.0 where the default style was less attractive if not the same as the current theme. When I was just a small noob and wanted hacks for games, I came here NOT because it looked like a castle, but because they had good things to look forward to as in programs, hacks, exploits, etc. If we want to properly advertise logicalgamers, we need something to attract them more than simple forum modifications.

My point exactly! Lg needs to be cleansed. We still have staff that haven't logged in for months. And there are unneeded stickys everywhere.
Only feature that is actually necessary to keep this forum alive is a cash system. Without that system, this community has gone into some psychotic money whoring. For example, Chris/Logic has released his program for the public, but only if he gets paid by using his download links (sharecash or whatever). Although that's a good idea, it kind of defeats the point of this website.
I'm just saying content should be first priority, once that's finished visual appeal and interactive features can roll in.

that's what I said?
Trading system/programs = the key to activity.
Edit: add friendly community to the list.

This is what people don't understand. The update is more than just a forum change. We are completely re-doing a ton of things. Programs are going to be completely handled differently. Undergrounds are going to get more sophisticated. And we are also currently working on a ton of other things as well. We do after all, have a list.
Plobby has done his updates from what I have seen. I'm not so sure about Torian and such but users just need to sit back and wait.

I believe there will be a new way of downloading files and uploading. We haven't really gotten to that point yet.
The list, some of it is and some of it isn't.

I am aware of this. But at least give us an estimated date. And stop ignoring the user's suggestions. For example, separating the stickys have been requested a few times. All it is is a simple css tweek. Will take maybe 1min tops. But y'all keep putting it off and ignoring it.

There is no estimated date. It gets finished when it gets finished. It was suppose to be up 2 weeks ago but we hit some delays.

How about making an announcement with a list of everything that is suppose to be done. Then when y'all finish the task remove it. That way it will give us an idea of when it will be finished.

Which brings me to another suggestion: Strikethrough bbcodes, I've needed those quite a few times and they've been missing.

Here is all you need. It will take 30 sec to do.
Title: Strike
Tag: strike
Replacement: <strike>{param}</strike>
Example: [strike]strikeout text[/strike]
Description: The [strike] tag allows you to display crossed-out text
Use Option: No[/strike]
Attracting users is not always good. Attracting active, rule following, possibly useful users on the other hand is good. a shiny forum wont necessarily attract desired users, as much as pure numbers, and maybe that's not the best idea?
if you really want to complain this much Thomas, why not start your own site? these guys work pretty hard for limited yield if at all and all you seem to be doing is complaining and on more than one account insisting Alex hands over control. In the long run remember this IS his site, and you should be thankful for all the time you have spent one it, instead of whining so much. He and all the other programmers and mods etc have put in lots of their time working on this site, it is almost absurd to demand more in such a manner.
Listing possible suggestions is fine, but listing then nagging and all of that just seems rude. I know if i was one of them i would be pissed at you after this. "guys you should fix this and add this. you're not getting paid for it, and all have real lives WHY HAVEN'T YOU DONE IT YET?!"
The update will get done when it's done. It officially wasn't supposed to be discussed with you because the team working on it had no set date for release and it was obvious that you guys would have gotten impatient.
Thread over.
