Notifications from tagging?
Ok, in threads a lot of time, people go @usernamehere. in effort to answer there question, ask there question, get their attention, whatever. Sometimes (mainly in the JY) posts are coming in so fast a user doesn't notice this and might miss out on something in the conversation or whatever the subject was about.

I was thinking that if someone puts @usernamehere then a little pop up should show up at the bottom right or left of the screen saying something like you have been tagged, click here to view message. This IS kind of like facebook, but I think it would be very helpful. It's just a simple little add on, not any big change... Anyone agree?

... If you wanna find your name on the page, there's this great function called find. Control + F. Tada... Mission accomplished...

I think if you expanded this idea to where it would be for all throughout the forum.

For example, someone mentions your name on a post of theres, your "User Notifications" centre would then capture that post/thread and allow you to view all posts which have your username included. It's not needed, but sounds nifty.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, it would be a nice feature, but I get that it's not necessary, but I mean, I don't think it would be BAD to have it.

Go ahead and implement it, I don't really care either way. Just give us the option of switching it off.

I have to say that this idea is bad for two reasons:
Firstly, the modification would have to check every word in every post to find a username. That's a lot of words = a lot of lag.
Secondly, the number of notifications that Fuck would get is unimaginable.
