Thinking about Ipod Touch development...

Thinking about Ipod Touch development...
I would rather be on windows, meaning developing on something like Dragon Fire SDK.

I know about '"X Code" which is made by apple to develop apps for the ipod as well, but I would rather not use my mac (They only released a mac compatible version)...


I am wondering what you guys think...

- Is it worth it to go with apple's?
- Is there something better that you know of?
- Etc.

In my opinion you should wait for Adobe Flash Professional CS5 (there is already a beta) and create iphone/ipod touch applications by coding in AS3. It has a new feature that exports flash projects as apps the way you'd do with air ones. :P
If you really want to do than get a mac an start. Also it's not easy to code applications as you may think.

Umm... Its pretty easy... xD ( I have been watching tuts... Its C Objective... )

Umm... I thought it was a one time $100 fee for the apple software, but it is $100 every year (Not wanting to do that)...

I have seen that but I wanted the whole application (More freedom than games)...

Ever hear of a program called "BlackRain" Also known as "JailBreak" It's a program that copies the ipod touches Operating system and enabling it to download apps for free. Illegal of course but everything that's free is illegal.

If he's going into app development, I should hope that he's heard of those.

You had better have a pretty good idea as to how you are going to sell this thing, if it's a paid app. Consider releasing it for free and offering DLC.

xD... Thats for JailBreaking your Ipod (A process of getting free apps from the app store)...
I have already done that (Its very simple...), but it has nothing to do with app development...

I think you should be. Piracy a Major Problem on iPhone, Claims Ngmoco at Slide To Play

And it does have to do with development, as you could release apps that Apple rejects through Cydia, Rockapp, etc.

Take the apps for the app store...

I don't think they will turn down my apps in other words (Perfectly good apps)...

I don't think Apple has ever done that...
The reason why many apps get released through Cydia/Rock is because they are things that Apple doesn't want. (Multitasking, Internet downloading, themes, etc.) I don;t think they would put them in the App Store.

Umm... A lot of the apps in the app store are encouraging viewing the source and getting admin rights, some others are anonymous email senders and so on...

I see why Apple didn't approve of those xD

PS: They don't always allow the apps, they take off apps all the time...
