Any of you guys remember Pokemon Crater before... It was so addicting and I saw an opportunity of it having an illegall Black Market until it closed I was like dafuq? Well I can't blame them, it was for free and you didn't need to donate at all but hard work, anyway yeah...
What in the shits is pokemon crater and pokemon vortex. Was this for some system i've never heard about?
I think as Pokemon Crater went down, some of it's staffs have re-made it and made Pokemon Vortex... There's tons of these, but by far Pokemon Vortex is the best...

So it's a PC game? Kind of like an outside fan made Pokemon MMO?
I just saw it now too, I used to play it forever ago. It was a great game, I had actually mentioned it in a thread about PokeMMO
Oh okay so it was a pokemon MMO. I tried one once but it just seemed downright dumb. There was like a million ashes walking around pallet towns and people trying to trade snorlaxes and gyradoes. It was the strangest thing in the world lol. Probably pretty cool in concept i was just way late to the party.

Yeah, that pretty much describes it. It was an extremely odd experience, a good idea that kind of failed. The new PokeMMO is pretty cool though, a better battle system than Pokemon Crater by far and stuff, but still a bit odd.
Could never get into pokemon crater. Maybe this new thing is better?
MMOs get closed down for copyright stuff, the one Raivu is repping is a rom patch so I doubt it gets shut down.
Yeah, it can't get shut down because if you want to use the Fire Red ROM that's your deal, they don't supply it on their site nor do they support it or anything hahaha. Or at least, they don't "officially" support it.

Yeah, basically if the law would want to pursue, they would have to pursue the user base. It's easier to target an "official" server because they can report it to the servers web space provider, and legal termination is easier to put in place

Yeah, and if they went after the userbase they would be screwed haha. No company has the money to sue like 10,000 players.

Yous say that but then remember that th anti-pirate people like to grab a few hundred or thousand every now and again and crucify them rather than sue the people that host torrent sites and such.

Ooh that's a good point, and I don't think the Pokemon MMO people would be willing to fight like the Pirate Party or Pirate Bay has been haha.
