I love that sound, GAME.

Also, I loved watching friends play Red and Blue on their Gameboy Colors back when I was younger. After that, I would play on friends' Fire Red and Leaf Green. Only a few of my friends had Silver and Gold. Finally, like three years ago I finally got my first pokemon cartridge, my friend gave me his Pokemon Ruby and Emerald. A few months after that I bought Heart Gold. Before I had gotten my own, I was playing the Pokemon games obsessively at friends' house, and borrowing friends' Diamond and Pearl cartridges and playing them on my DS and stuff haha.

Clafairy mother fucker, we didn't have no Togepi.

Wasn't Togepi already in the Japanese anime by the time we got the first games?

Just guessing, though.

Wouldn't surprise me, the Japanese are always ahead in everything haha. I never really watched the Japansese anime though, is it different at all?

I think he was in the anime pretty early, but I don't know if it was definately before red/blue per say. Half of the time in the anime he was an egg, so in theory, you could say that having him in the first 2 games wouldnt have been impossible i think.

There were a lot of hints at the Gold/Silver Pokemon in the Red/Blue anime. Like Ho-oh appears in either the first or second episode. I was never big on the anime, so I can't say with certainty when Togepi appeared. But I wouldn't be surprised if it appeared super early as a teaser.

Togepi didn't happen early. It happened just over half way through season one and that was just as in a "here is an egg" It hatched several episodes later.
Ho-oh was in the first ep. Though you really had no way to know what it was at the time.
You also got to see an Elekid in the short before the first movie.
I'm sure the japanese show was ahead but we were around seven so I doubt we had a lot of info in that regard. So we had the whispers of strange new pokemon several moths post release of pokemon stff but it was awhile before we had anything official to go by and even then it was just the japanese names of stuff.

On the topic of anime vs games: Orange Islands needs to happen.

DUDE I thought the orange islands gyms were pretty cool. It's very fuzzy but didn't the island badges have specific tasks you needed to win in versus traditional duking it out battles? Such as a surfing battle or some shit which is the origin of the surfing pikachu?

I might be misremembering but that was funy holy shit

They did. They also never concluded the main plot. When season two should have stated they just moved on to the next region. Very disappointing.
GS Ball plot alludes to gold and sliver, Lugia, Slowking, and a bunch of stuff but is never resolved or revisited. That season also had the best writing in my opinion because it seldom followed the typical format and often included interesting characters.
