Bug typing prevents Scyther from learning fly. That's the official reason as I understand it.

In the anime Scyther could fly but in the games he can't. Kind of a double standard.

I think it's because birds are able to fly, and grasshopper/praying mantis can't fly.

You mean butterfree or whatever it was called? Wasn't that May's pokemon or something? I remember some trainer having it...

Damn, I remember when Butterfree was a weird new pokemon, and look what we have now.

Ash had a Butterfree. t is shown in the intro carrying/flying with another pokemon on it's back.
Tracy's Scyther definitely flew at one point with him on it.

Oh yeah, I remember now. Man, I miss that opening. That was Pokemon: Advance wasn't it?

After Pokemon Advanced was when I stopped watching, is the show still any good? Nintendo made a Google Play app to watch the pokemon episodes free, so if the show is still any good I could watch it haha.
