The lead singer from the Killers is a hypocrite and a douche in person. And I was told this by a person that's actually interviewed him.

I prefer harder rock.

I just assume all musicians are asshats, that way I don't freak out when my favorite artists turn out to be dicks.

Modern rock doesn't hold a candle to the original stuff, man.Can't stand it. There are some gems here and there but it got mainstreamed somewhere along the way, watered down for the masses. Rock n roll isn't supposed to be for everyone. Loud and polarizing, imperfect, and feeling is all there is.

My mom get's mad because when I am having a bad day I blast rock (All kinds of it,) and she hates all rock it's hilarious.

Not all musicians are assholes. Slash, having met him is really down to earth. So is Jimmy Page. Took a tour in London and he came right out of his house, stopped the tour and talked to us. Awesome.
Most modern rockers are jerks though. That's why "Spinal Tap" went from a comedy to something to cry about when you watch it. You had the same effect when the fake metal and rock bands showed up in the late 80s.
I suspect eventually in the next 5-10 years we'll get pissed off enough to do something about it. Bands and music today are products of the industry, not the other way around. Not like it used to be.

Yeah, I have a bad day and that just means I'm tuning to drop D or half step down and wailing for a few hours with inverted power chords and such.
or I turn on Ozzy.
