Aside from that Nintendo probably owns Zelda. Some other company owned Concker and Microsoft just happened to acquire them. They do that a lot, often then killing the series. It's why people freaked when they bought Minecraft's developer.

Nintendo doesn't own it. It was made by a company called Rareware. Rareware chose to make it on Nintendo consoles. But then Rareware went broke so Microsoft bought them. And now Microsoft only publishes Rareware's titles on Microsoft consoles.
