I was trying to aim for one that doesn't animate. I like the subtle pink of the old one, but I don't think it can honestly stay forever. It needs a replacement, I just don't know what.

At first I didn't like it either, but it's beginning to grow on me.

the red isn't that much more readable as far as the text between the banner and content goes though :(

No way jose. That's a lot of changes. Restyling the color scheme from offwhite/offblue just to change the background, nah.
