Anti-net neutrality posts?

I have not seen someone openly speak against net-nuetrality before unless they we're part of some corporation or lobby but now I'm seeing them on Facebook from people. Struck me as odd. I don't know why I thought there wouldn't be average people against it but that was foolish on my part I suppose.

Because Net Neutrality would cost you the consumer more in the long run than without it.
saying i have a connection that is better than yours and is cheaper on one hand yours is expensive being
a company like Time Warner.. you pay more for a shit service while i pay less for a better service. the bill means
to make and level out. what this means if you love youtube, netflix, streaming media you will pay more for streaming
videos etc instead of basic internet. Data trafficking is cheap and the internet is slow because internet companies set caps
for reasons they dont want you to have a fast connection. with net neutrality your going to pay more for internet to get
what you want. if you have a cheap plan well your fucked your only going to get so much.

Not how I understand net neutrality. The issue is do you want the government to regulate the internet and set standards that ISPs and other corporate and governmental agencies to conform to. Examples of what deregulation entail include throttled access to various sites and services because they don't pay said ISP a fee to get faster load times to customer, data caps for consumers, restrictions on what you can share and say on the internet without facing repercussions, and ISP becoming the gate keepers of the internet and controlling all aspects of it for the consumer rather than simply being an access point because the ISPs will make the rules. I fail to see how money is even a consideration in the protections of freedoms and access of information.
Throttled access and premiums for streaming is a by product of not adopting net neutrality because there is currently due to the expiration of certain bills no regulation that prevents ISPs from doing this.
Also if money is a real concern then most money minded individuals love the free market and expose it's virtues. In your example it's the consumer's job to be informed and if their service sucks to level service x for service y or z.

I think it's Sep. 10 (maybe 30?) that Netflix is going to do a net neutrality campaign by slowing their streaming speeds or something. That will get the average person involved.

here is the problem with net neutrality they make the internet slower than it already should be. the internet should be a hell of a lot faster than it should be currently IPv6.
we should all have IPv6 addresses already. the government wants IPs to have net neutrality for the reason you pay for faster internet speed. in parts of europe you can get
a decent internet connection FIOS with a base of 100 down 50 up. its sad knowing we made the internet but we get hold back by the companies that give us internet.

Several websites and services were involved. The slow down was to simulate what it will be like if net neutrality isn't adopted and ISP start charging sites and services to be fast laned.

I agree that the US doesn't have the speeds it should. However net neutrality isn't about restriction of speed or charging people more. It's about equal access, less restriction on the individual, and collusion by ISPs to get more money out of not only consumers but web sites and services.

Netflix didn't go as balls out as I'd expected. Looks like all they did was add a loading icon to the homepage, but kept their streams at max speeds. Probably for the better as far as their customer service department is concerned, but it wasn't exactly something that had to be acknowledged.

Yeah the "slow down" seems to have largely been "here a loading icon and would you still be here if the site was still loading?"
Hopefully it caught some peoples' attention.

in all reality Data caps should be removed, but they are there because there is money to be made.
