After someone stealing $600 from my paypal which is connected to my bank account I noticed a lot of my emails had been blocked because someone else has accessed them. Aside from that it doesn't look like anything else has been touched. Now I have a fresh install of Windows and a balance of -$600 on PayPal.
Wow. Sucks man. But being keylogged is pretty novice-ish. As an aspiring programmer, it would probably hurt my pride more than it hurts my bank currency. You have to be very vigilant about those kinds of things.

But if it was > $1000, then yeah, it would hurt my money more than ego. Either way it would make me pretty mad. But being keylogged would only add insult to injury and make me feel like an idiot.

Not 100% sure how it happened but only used Paypal on my personal computer. I went to the bank and they fixed my balance but I can't buy anything only because my Paypal is negitive.

Local network intrusion? Someone got hold of your email and from there your bank account?
I assume you've signed into your email other places. Unsecured hotspots maybe?

Well an unsecured hotspot does seem likely I don't thinks that's how it happened.
I did a Google search and this has happened to other people aswell.
