Sorry to break it to you but no one is going to do anything to bring back lg untill the admins do something. Ive made like 100 threads like this one but they always get buried after a week.

The only problem is that there are no Administrators left, besides Arti. That's why I was saying that I would be happy to be an administrator and help clean up the entire forum and help it get active again and everything like that

Well this might be shit all to you but we can try help with advertising the forum, put a link in our channel featured sites , etc... just an idea

No use in trying to advertise a dead and lethargic forum. None of the people who actually matter like the staff seem to care.

Thanks for offering though. At least someone's trying. Even if it's as ironic as that someone being a person who isn't really apart of the community, lol.

Cleaning up the forum isnt gonna do any good the thing that we need is active programmers releasing programs that make people want to sign up for lg and smart people that post guides. I wouldnt care if they made you admin because there isnt anything big to do on this site except post on junkyard so what are you going to do. First thing you need to do is find a new game that is known and easy to fuck with.

Nice reinventing the wheel. Isn't that the same thing that ultimately led to LG's demise? I believe so.

The first priority should be cleaning LG up. Then getting semi-active members and staff. Then revamping the forum (maybe implement a chat system/shoutbox again, ditch VBulletin, etc).

Overall this site needs a lot of refining before it's going anywhere imo.

Well, it seems like a lot of people care, it's just the only person who can change anything is Arti, and he's not changing anything, nor letting anyone else change anything (By promoting them to admin)

Why would we care about a chat box if no one is going to be on to talk? If a forum has no programs but has a chat i would def not sign up for it.
You can clean it up all you want but that wont bring in new members if you dont have anything good to offer them except the junkyard.

It's all a process. Obviously we don't need a chat now. Why would we throw anything on top of a dead forum? That's why I declined 2PotHeadz's offer before.

Why would we have anything good to offer right now? This entire forum is disjointed. Having programs and members isn't going to do anything if we're simply going to repeat the same cycle as before. That's obviously not a recipe for success.

First and foremost we need to clean this place up. Delete unnecessary forums, delete spam, archive threads, stickies, etc. And then there's the other aforementioned steps we should take.

Yeah and that's exactly what I meant. "None of the people who actually matter seems to care." Artificial being the main person this statement is referencing.

But like I said, a lot more needs to be done than simply promoting members to staff positions. That would be a start though I guess.

Yeah i know that but without programs lg is nothing so what can replace program?
I try to be active but i dont see any threads that i want to post on because most of the people i used to joke around with or talk to left.

We need programs too. It's just not what we need at the moment. We need to focus on getting this forum back together, then making programs. Which should not be a real issue provided we get some activity going on.

I know this is all easier said than done. It's going to take legitimate work. And a lot of it.

I would but I (1) don't care that much and (2) don't want to configure my IM clients to alert me every time Arti signs on, which is what it would require for me to even notice he's online.

He didn't seem optimistic. His biggest concern is losing SEO from merging forums, and while you might have good ideas for forum structure, you don't really have experience in SEO. LG would lose a lot of PR and new users if you altered some of the forums here.

I think, due to the current users (and I specify Users as opposed to admins, mods, etc.) who are on here every day and the inactivity of administration, it'd be in best interest if we handed administration privileges over to them as well.

I mean, you're entrusting the hands of LogicalGamers to it's trusted public. What's the worst that could happen? We "lose" more users?

There's a great quote I heard forever ago that says "It's too bad that the people who really KNOW how to run our country are too busy making burgers and driving taxis"

The public is more active, they know what a public would want, so why not specific active daily users administration to help clean up the place and bring in more traffic?

But now, here's the trade off: What good is SEO when users come here and think it's a dead forum because of all of the empty topics and leave?

I understand what you're saying, but if it doesn't help us get new members, wouldn't we rather have an active looking forum to a select few, and then after we get a bit active expand our SEO back out so those new sub forums are active and bring in new members?

I don't even think we could actually LOSE members right now. If we deleted every forum except the Junkyard, we would still keep our members I bet, because we can discuss anything in here and it's the most-posted-in forum.

I'm more than happy to lead and bring changes.
I just don't want to be alone, because I'm not quite as active as I'd like to be. I can be, I just need to figure out how to get the LG phone app. I have that on me all the time.
But I'd like it so when I'm inactive and unable, a few others can be.

I have a suggestion. Why not make a serious list of goals, demands, desires, etc. Present them in a logical fashion ans explain how each achieves the other or helps with the ultimate goal of a revitalized LG?
Bitching about inactive admins, forum organization, or campaigning for new staff doesn't really fix any thing.
Flame's first post is in the right vein but ultimately is not really enough. LG literally needs to be rebooted with a clear agenda, goals, and focus.
Adverting is a waste of time since we don't have anything to advertise. New programs are a good idea but rather than randomly pursuing projects for various games we'd need to collectively pick a few games that people here like and know and focus on stuff for them. Subforum reorganization can wait till there is an actual reason to do it.
I would combine Raivu's public approach with Flame's and get a serious discussion going amongst all of us so we can get a goal, form a plan, and then put that into action.

SEO takes a butt ton of time to build up but can be lost in a heartbeat. The goal should be the keep SEO high while still improving the forum. It's possible.

An actual plan of action with what the new admin would do and why a new admin is required to carry out the plan. You know something that Arti could look at and sign off on might make him more willing to support new staff/admins.

Also the subforums aren't preventing activity or scaring people away. If any thing scares new users away it's us.The active community.

I really don't feel obligated to explain the subtleties of administration. It's not about choices and logic; it also heavily encompasses socialization and perception. You're arguing that ads should focus only on their pros and cons instead of celebrity endorsements, and the truth of the matter is that the latter makes sales. More needs to be done than numbers and degrees. There are a lot of changes administrators must take into account that are not intuitive but still time-tested. Flare has at least read the book on the matter. Don't negate it without experiencing it.
