what is everyone up to on this fine day?

I'm screwing with towns and learning Actionscript 3. Also homework, studying, music, and looking up stuff to waste my money on.

1Channel is always fun. And oh, Skyrim is fun for the first few weeks, but after that gets extremely boring extremely fast. As is the case for most games that feel "unfinishable".

Haha Yeah, that is how I feel with most of my games that are long and/or open world. I end up modding them to death after a few weeks. lolol

Certainly not me. Shame on you for comparing the two languages. Flash is terrible and it shouldn't be needed to be scrutinized for anyone to realize that (apparently even its very own developers).

JavaScript will be around in the foreseeable future for many years to come. I'm not sure you can say the same for Flash.

I hate to say it, but I agree with you entirely. The only reason I'm even bothering to learn a horrible scripting language like AutoIt is for sake of clients and modding/understanding the source of Gaia's games. I understand most of it because of it's similarities with other programming languages, but I would like to have the option of being able to understand it, edit it, and have it still work.

Someone said JavaScript was a dying language and that we should instead use languages like Perl or Ruby and use Perl/Ruby-to-JavaScript converters to convert the program to JavaScript. It was the probably the dumbest thing I'd ever heard. Their justification was that JavaScript is too difficult for people to learn. So apparently people who already knew JavaScript needed to learn a different language and use it instead to perform the task they already knew how to do.

Still pretty sure that was you.

Lol, that's pretty dumb. But then again, people are starting to use CoffeeScript for that very reason. So who knows. Something I personally wouldn't do, but whatever.

Lolwut, how is JavaScript hard at all? They should try learning C or Assembly. I think we're moving into a generation of lazy programmers.

Feel free to program in Assembly/Fortran etc. In fact why not go one step further and just use machine code :)

I've been wanting to learn Assembly for a while for viruses and shellcode, but haven't had the time. Machine code I've never really looked into learning o: And yes I got your sarcasm, but I've been legitimately looking into Assembly.

Har har har. I actually have uses for Assembly, but I wouldn't for BASIC. Sure, if I had uses for BASIC, hell yeah I'd learn it.

My best friend and I wanted to go to the zoo because we haven't been there in forever, and since the Baton Rouge zoo sucks balls, we're driving an hour away for the NOLA zoo. That, and we wanted to shop and visit our old school buddies.

Haha cool, sounds fun. I hadn't been to the zoo in like five years until a few weeks ago, when I went. It was actually pretty entertaining to see how things have changed, and I live fairly close to a pretty big zoo.

Here's a bit of advice; Stick with one thing and master it. Every couple of days it seems you are onto something new. Learning bits & pieces of something ain't gonna help you, especially with all this shit you claim to start/want to accomplish.
