Im thinking about making a computer but i barely know anything about making them so you guys have to help me out.
Ive heard anyone can make them and they dont even take long all i need to know is which tuts are the best and all that. I want to make a regular computer nothing to big (dont really need it for gaming but if you think its a good idea and its cheap sure but i need everything else to be fast)
So post the tuts that you sugest or some tips or anything you want.
I want it more for like regular use as in downloading music, talking on msn for my mom.

I really dont mind on the price but as long as its not 1000$ but id like it to be pretty cheap.
I want it more for like regular use as in downloading music, talking on msn for my mom.(but if you can find a cheap but good capture card you can throw it in there.

I'll play around with something tomorrow. To be fair, you should be able to get something for about $500-600 to suit your needs. You don't need anything special.

You think it would be cheaper to make it or jus buy one since i dont really need anything big butto hold song and regular computer stuff?

I think, in your case, buying a premade one is much, much more efficient especially since you're looking for just a basic needs computer. At least that way you won't somehow break components, which, incidentally would end up costing you more.

Do you want it in desktop form ? If you are building it for experience as well then I'd suggest just a mini-atx build. However, if you are building it to save money, buy a machine. You'll save money really if you are looking just for casual use. Shop around comparing PCs/Laptops.

Yeah desktop and some was experiance and some was just to save money but you guys are saying just to buy one i think ill do that so what kind of desktops do you guys suggest?

If money is no issue, I'd go macbook pro for looks and feel/quality of the machine. If you don't have $2-3k then buy a pc from your local bestbuy/pc store. They are probably having some nice deals on windows 7 machines due to windows 8 release friday!

Im not really into macs for some reason ive always had pc desktops so ill check for that thanks.

On the other hand of things, if you are ever looking to get a gaming pc/high end pc, build build build! It's MUCH cheaper then buying a high end pc prebuilt! And do a LOT of shopping. Lots of times places will cut you deals on items if you show them prices from newegg and such. At least my local computer store will haggle.
