I tried to buy something for a friend using my paypal but with the exchange rate it was more then I had in my bank at the time but paypal allowed the purchase to go through and they never touched the money in my bank. Is something bad going to come from this?

I'm pretty sure you're going to receive a message afterward stating that your purchase is void due to insufficient funds. Unless I'm missing something.

If that doesn't happen then chances are they're just going to take that money from your bank when they get notice that you have the amount of money you owe. Scenario A has more likelihood though.
