I'm going to assume The Unintelligible is joking. Don't use GoDaddy under any circumstances. SOPA aside, their service has been the ass-end of the Internet for years now. They just have effective marketing, but their products are overpriced pieces of shit.

1and1 and namecheap are the best domain providers.

And if you are buying hosting from your domain provider (GoDaddy included), you're fucking retarded.

Pick pretty much any other host ever.

I have no recommendations in that area, because hosts are very competitive and always changing. But I've never see a domain provider that was a cost-efficient host as well.

@GAMEchief, I've never used anything besides GoDaddy before. Mainly because I don't do web development primarily and I've never needed anything more than a low-end website.

From my experience however, I see no problems with it.

Also I think he intentionally spelled it that way since the actual allowance.com is probably already taken.

Missed this post. protozoid.lrn2prgm.com is a contemporary sub-domain given to me. That's just for personal stuff. For the community I have in store, I'm going to need a dedicated domain.

Use the recommendations I gave you. GoDaddy is absolutely trash. Their domain prices can be _okay_ at best, when they're on sale. After the "first year price" or what-have-you, they usually charge more than other companies. Their hosting fees are hands down some of the worst on the Internet, though.

Go through Wix, use promo code for %50 unlimited annual account, sign up for an affiliate or resellers account (get $40 back everytime you are responsible for the upgrade of a website) get a domain, a year of hosting, local listings, facebook creds, google creds, and the use of Wix's design platform.

You end up getting that for $35

If you're making websites through Wix, it means you:

1.) Don't know how to program
2.) Don't know how to design websites
3.) Are lazy, and don't like to try

Their websites are horrible flash-based pieces of shit. They run extremely slowly, look bad, and take no effort. You just drag and drop the shit you want onto the site.

If you're interested in web design, go learn HTML5 and CSS, not some shitty flash site editor.

I'm actually using dreamweaver right now, most people just can't afford it so I suggested Wix. And they have an html5 design platform now which is a lot better then the flash platform.
