Well people make new threads when they want and where they want.
If you poke around the site you will see that there are many topics with interesting stuff like games , hacks, guides and all you want on the internet.

Lol, LG isn't nearly populated enough to be (essentially) considered a "facebook for nerds."

I'd say Google+ is closer to that than anything else.
